Aren't the majority of states less than 18? 18 is mostly just for porn due to that. Anything less than 16, guess it depends on if the person is from that country or if the person is visiting that country. If they're a visitor, kind of suspect.

I think for the most part people are so worried about being percieved as a creep that they overcompensate in their signaling. Like they over interpret and accuse because if you are the one accusing you can't possibly be it.

It's one thing to know local aoc laws of different places. It's another thing to try and justify fucking teenagers by citing those laws.

At least on CE, the majority of the people bringing up those laws are attempting the latter >_>

I kan't even name every state, much less be bothered to remember which are 18, 16, or 14. But thanks to this being such a frequent CE topic, I don't think I'm going to forget that the majority of the world is less than 18, and possibly even half of the US.

So to answer the topic question, I kannot make such assumptions on a person for random trivia, what with how easy it is to pick up. It doesn't become a red-flag unless this person either has extensive knowledge on the subject, and/or throws it out there with no build up or follow up, or just at the most suspect of moments.

Yes but you are forgetting that for all of human history teenagers were considered adults up until recently. It's not until we got into the 20th century that teenagers started being thought of as "children." And that keeps getting pushed back further and further that a big chunk of society now thinks of people in their 20s as children. Psychologists have said this is actually a bad thing as it can be mentally damaging and stunt maturity.

As far as I aware humans are the only specifies on earth that continue to treat those of their species that have already gone through puberty as if they are still small children. It's also a mostly American problem as well as most other countries treat teenagers either outright adults or at least dont think of them as a child like Americans do. But of course then when they do something wrong and we want to punish them? All of a sudden they are adults and its ok to send them to prison for decades or even life and in some cases death.
