I started roasting small batches of coffee a bit ago, and always have a bag de-gassing at my coffee station. It has a rich, deep, persistent aroma that hangs around. I loved it at first, but every morning I've been making a flat-white-like espresso milk drink on my modded Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista - not really a flat white, but more attuned to my personal tastes, and maybe more importantly, my visual aesthetical targets for a milk drink - and it's been giving me some rancid ass coffee farts. Here's the issue: This personal de-gassing shares a rich buttery note (with a hint of sumatra) that lines up pretty closely to the coffee de-gassing. I can't break the association, and the smell of fresh coffee has started to turn my stomach. TLDR; My coffee station now smells like farts and it's really putting a damper on my morning routine. Anything I can do to mix things up and re-enliven my coffee life? Maybe change beans? ... Copied to Clipboard!
