Are you asking how it measures up against the rest of the video game soundtrack world? For the many who have been playing Mortal Kombat 11s online multiplayer mode, or watching the Mortal Kombat: Konquest mode in the games free live event, the soundtrack to the first game in the franchise in almost 15 years has become something of a fan favorite.

Its an impressive work, boasting one of the greatest songwriters of the past decade, Frank Klepacki, who scored Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, among other games. It also has a lot to live up to, as well. The original Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance soundtrack, while good, cant compare to some of the best video game music of the last decade.

As is often the case, video game soundtracks have the worst reputation in music criticism. Many journalists and fans feel that scores should be kept in a separate compartment where they do not intrude on the action. This, in turn, has led many games to eschew musical accompaniment altogether, believing that music has the potential to be distracting and undermine the cool of a games action.
