more fiber is important, but equally important when getting more fiber is staying well hydrated. a ton of fiber but not properly hydrating is not going to make any moves smoother.

Take metamucil. Total game changer if your diet is lacking in fiber. Alternatively, eat food with more fiber.

Stay hydrated, and take your fiber from veggies and whole grains...

Cut back on added sugars and refined carbs, and processed food in general. In addition, limit sweeteners, whether artificial or not. Just eat healthy natural stuff

cooked usually has more nutrients
best way is whichever way helps you eat more of them lol
you can roast them, steam, stir fry (just don't use a ton of oil for the obvious reasons)

Chick peas. They have a bonus of being frequently included in dishes that include generous amounts of roasted garlic, the combo of which will make you hilariously gassy if you eat it for multiple days in a row. My falafel farts are something else

Lentils are god-tier when it comes to fiber. They are also ridiculously cheap.

Chickpeas are great too.

Is it true we could have an imbalance of one type of fiber over the other? Like eating too much insoluble fiber than soluble fiber would make our poop hard as a rock?

possibly. insoluble fiber is the more important one in that regard

https://www.healthline.com/health/soluble-vs-insoluble-fiber

Insoluble fiber attracts water into your stool, making it softer and easier to pass with less strain on your bowel. Insoluble fiber can help promote bowel health and regularity.

Good sources of insoluble fiber include:

whole-wheat flour
wheat bran
nuts
beans
cauliflower
green beans
potatoes

Um, no.

That doesnt help with bowel movement. If anything, it would probably make it worse considering that so many people are lactose intolerant. Its highly inflammatory in the gut.

Even if you're not, a lot of cheese at once is going to cause a backup anyway.

the only thing you can possibly miss assuming your diet is varied enough is B12 and even then its added to cereals, nutritional yeast and plant milk, I personally still take b12 supplements because theyre dirt cheap

most people who eat a lot of meat dont get a lot of B12 either anyway because B12 is found most in the least popular pieces of meat like liver, so supplementing is recommended even if you eat meat
