The US isn't exactly known for a legitimate justice system, anymore. It's more akin to an unbalanced incarceration system to help beat the already-downtrodden. We could and should do better, but... This is what we got right now. =(

Ehhh, I would've gone with at least 5 but you gotta respect the outcome and all those involved.. was not as easy case

On the one hand she was instantly remorseful (as per the video of the incident) but on the other she violated department policy and her decades of training by keeping her tazer on the same side as her sidearm. She has held and used these weapons, she is familiar with the weight and feel of them, she is a veteran of two decades who knows better.

Hopefully she will never work in Law enforcement or security ever again, but this is a slap in the face to jurisprudence.

Are they fucking serious?! A veteran cop who should, by all logic, know the difference between her service firearm and stun gun, is getting off with less jail time than anyone else probably would in the same situation?!

^Well in some cases they don't even get any Jail Time (or even Convicted/Arrested)...so I guess this is a small 'Win'

Should have been zero. So I can't select either becuase of how the question is worded. Is it ENOUGH, either yes, means it's good the length(which it's too much) or NO meaning it should be longer. There needs to be an option of she shouldn't have been found guilty in the first place so 1 day is too many.

If a private citizen pulls a weapon on any other private citizen during an altercation -- even in defense -- most states won't recognize it as a valid defense (). Overlooking that the suspect was being detained for an outstanding warrant and was in the process of fleeing after resisting arrest -- which goes a lot further than your glaring disingenuous claim about an air freshener and outdated tags (which *nobody* gets arrested for) -- she was probably LESS LIKELY than most officers after this incident to make that same mistake.

It'll probably take years of legal battles just to get the full bodycam footage, if they haven't "accidentally lost it" and even then they'll ignore decades of jurisprudence and claim the shooting was justified.
