Yes. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didnt. My parents gave it to me at the same time as my PSX, so I felt I had to finish it. One of the few Final Fantasies I truly hate.

I didnt beat it until years later when I was in college, even though I had previously had a couple save files with 99:99 times and master materia for everyone.

I tend to play the hell out of rpgs and never finish the story. I had 1000 hours over various files in oblivion until I got especially drunk one time and figured fuck it and did the whole main quest line.

In fact I tend to do that in any game where you level up or build stuff, less these days with postgame content being a pretty common thing. Otherwise Id always just stop at the point of no return or keep multiple saves.

i actually finished FFVII before FFVI (IIISNES). quits FFVI because i didn't wait for shadow, and back to the game again
after PS1's slow ass port.
