it is exploitation of their labor to only pay them the agreed upon amount while you get to live in your house

plumbers should get an equity stake in any house they fix so they can benefit from its appreciation in value

put a stop to homeowners leeching off laborers

What's sad is I cannot tell if this is satire or 100% serious. That's how deranged the anti land/property owner crowd has become

If they want to help pay for the debt then they can have the equity.

isn't funny how people like tc say dumb stuff like "get a trade job!" you know, like plumbing?

but then they all the sudden pretend that the discussion of exploitation is discussing these jobs even people like tc think make very good money

not to mention, most plumbers are SELF employed

oh that went over your head?

let me help you out

exploitation is when the owner of a business exploits the labor of someone they have employed

you are using in your op, a person who employed themselves and saying "but but but guys, he is exploited?"

Not really. Plumbing/Carpentry/etc. tend to not be done by most people because they are hard to do right over any length of time correctly. If anything most would hate Youtube because it makes the jobs look way easier than they actually are, and thus they would have to come in after the owner had already royally screwed up.

i swapped out all the water valves in my house a year ago, without youtube i'd have never tried it because i'd never used a soldering torch and didn't know how to work with copper pipe. probably saved a grand because of it.

IDK about that. I had a leaky window once. I looked up a YouTube video on how to fix it. I then proceeded to do it in the dark, while on a stepladder (the video was for fixing a first floor window) and while I probably did a shitty job compared to a pro, I successfully stopped the leak and the only expenses I had were for the silicone gel and rented truck & ladder.

The existence of easy jobs within a trade job does not trivialize the majority of what has to be done in said trade jobs.

no, but disputing the fact that it cuts into their bread and butter, the fucking simple jobs that most people dont do because they're afraid they'll break something, comes off as disingenuous. something as simple as swapping out a wax seal on a toilet can net a plumber a couple hundred in labor for 15 minutes work, "how to" videos on youtube has absolutely cut into that market.

The funny thing about all this is companies do give out shares of their company, especially at early stages. Those early employees at google, Amazon, etc are prob filthy rich.

And once they're bigger, there are usually some kind of Employee stock program to get you some deal on the company's stock

This cant possibly be happening of their own volition, it must be state mandated and we didnt notice
