My friend is a hiring manager at a hotel. Some worker talked back to him this morning so he posted his job on Indeed. There's already 40 candidates lining up.

In my area only fast food has hiring signs up. Nobody else is putting up with bad employees anymore

In my father's day you'd be marched out the door the second you disrespected a superior.

Key word "marched"

I'd like to think we live in less authoritative times

Also, it isnt a labor shortage. People want to work, but the job needs to be able to pay the bills for it to be worth it. The real issue is employers thinking that people will come back to the shit wages when they get desperate enough. They wont, because there is no point. The pandemic showed the true colors of who this country favors, and it is NOT the working class in the slightest. Both democrats AND conservatives are NOT working class parties. They are parties for the wealthy.
