I was most certainly there to party lol I am lucky enough that my work pays me to do so. I only have one employed position, but they allow me to contract my services out to other companies. I work for a marketing agency. So typically when I sign contractor agreements with separate companies they also get run off business. One of the companies I work for hired me as an evangelist in which my only job is to go from conference to conference speaking on stage, giving interviews, and mingling with strangers. This almost always included going to parties. This week I attended 9 parties, three meet ups, one conference, two work retreats, and a bunch of interviews. Was in four cities in one week, 4 plane trips, and probably 30 Ubers. Its exhausting, but Im not going to try and pretend like Im some super skilled, talented, techo genius or anything. Im just a very extroverted, and sociable guywho can interact with introverted non-sociable people. Thats the value prop for crypto & gaming (my two specialties) is that the userbase comprised of the types people who probably frequent CE in terms of social tastes. There is a big disconnect with sales, business, marketing, and upper executives and the userbase itself. Me having enjoy online forums and communities my entire life (since 1995) understands the 4Chan, Discord, Gaia, Resetera type of fandom, so I can breach both worlds pretty easily. You drop me in any conference/party, with any genre/theme, no matter how diverse or ninche the audience and Ill start making friends pretty quickly. In Crypto more so than gaming thats very valuable, and creates business opportunities. But yea, most of all of you here have much tougher jobs than I do. Me an some French dude I met at the bar decided to make a video about the sign yall were obsessing over. We picked it up and did a drunken back to the future skit. The video ended with him yelling nonsense in a foreign language I assume cursing. I also used the world mother fucker but did do not defamatory. I used it in substitution of the word homie which is just my lexicon when talking to friends while messed up. I think I may have actually set a new GameFaqs milestone. GameFaqs users posts videos of people swearing and doing offensive stuff all the time, but because it was obviously me in the video, and I was obviously addressing GameFaqs, the videos content was moderated as if I had actually made a text reply. Which is fair. Then someone wanted to know where the video went (got viewed by only 7 people) and I tried to explain, but in my drunken stupor I couldnt spell, and had a typo in the word mother fucker as well as every other word. So I got set to earned for a censor bypass. Or you RVSP up on eventbrite and someone vets your socials, and then sends you a ticket. These people are basically general admission. But the event coordinators have a list and can see who has checked in. Then later in the week when everyone is sober, youll connect and talk business. So if it was a non-work function, then yes, youd probably just want it to be your friends.
