really? which park? And i know that i lot of cedar point workers still work there into their 20s and late 20s. But you think it would be really odd to work there after your early 20s?

Only if I was an engineer. The entry level positions would suck. On my feet all day, watching other people have fun? I couldn't do it.

engineer? you mean the ride operator? yeah, i guess you have a point. You want to go on the rides, not watch others go on them, all day.

my local one was infamous for scheduling, but not paying, any overtime because the fine was cheaper than the wages would have been.

idlewild in Ligonier PA, while they were owned by Kennywood, who i assume were doing the same thing in Pittsburgh.

it also might have only ever been rumor, but my brother worked there for a few seasons and never really denied it.

Seems like if they were fined they would've been ordered to payout the unpaid overtime.

No, no, I mean literally an engineer. As in, the guys that actually build the coasters. When I was younger, I wanted to be a mechanical engineer. But I decided against it, after I started realizing how small that industry is, as far as number of job positions go.

I guess doing daily maintenance on the rides wouldn't be bad though. You'd see more of the inner workings of the rides doing that.

see, that makes sense, but still, the rumor was around for decades. (at this point, i'm just going to stop talking about it. because i'm probably wrong about something and only embarrassing myself. and if not, it's really not all that important anyway. was just supposed to be a funny aside, but i'm definitely now regretting making it.)
