Wouldnt it take a Congressional bill to decriminalize it? So far, Democrats dont seem interested in creating such a bill.
Exit: a bill has been introduced, but Congress wont debate on it until Spring 2022.

Dude, everyone whos sane knows Biden is better, I dont see why any remote criticism of Biden immediately means they want Trump in charge. If you want people to remember Biden is still better than Trump just add the still better than Trump hashtag after any criticism of him to let people know you understand hes better than Trump, I understand why TC can be taken the wrong way because he failed to add that in the op.

This is very true as well, if Biden had the proper tools and resources to push his policies forward he would have, his political career spanned multiple decades and at every step he has shown he has favored and supported policies that are beneficial people more often than not

Pointless post

Nothing came of that, it may as well have never happened. If Trump DID throw it out then you have an argument. Otherwise it was a manchild crybaby move and Biden still came in and did nothing to improve anything.

However it makes for excellent distraction and theater while the country falls apart, great move by dems. They can talk about Jan 6 for years to come anytime anything bad happens.

Ok NO FUCKING OFFENSE

But hear me out

A president who SERIOUSLY THOUGHT HE COULD DO THAT and ACTUALLY TRIED TO DO IT should have been immediately condemned by his entire party and prevented from ever running again (through conviction from impeachment).

Sure

but how many years and millions of dollars do you spend pursuing it?

Keep in mind, this flows both ways. Any time Trump had a bad day in the polls it was HILARY EMAILS HILARY EMAILS

Now any bad day for Biden

JANUARY 6 NEVAR FORGET

What pisses me off the most is that it's a tactic that gets used because it works. People take the bait and stop caring about shit like, I don't know, Russia taking over europe.

It doesn't matter how much it costs.

That sort of thing should be an immediate zero tolerance disqualification for office.

The fact that GOP party leaders stayed silent and the regional GOP politicians actually PLAYED ALONG is a sign of a much deeper, sicker rot that needs to be dealt with now.

This is a thoroughly confusing and, quite frankly, stupid post

The election wasn't overturned on Jan 6, but it was still a legitimate attempt at a coup organized by people that are still holding positions in government. I don't see how you can say it may as well have never happened, acting like precedent isn't a thing. It happened, they faced no punishment, and the message is clear: "there's no consequences for attempting to overthrow elections, so just do it better next time"

Hey, at least you got your point across!

Consequences are important. Sticking to your beliefs until it offends someone into action is childish.

Trump was an idiot. However idiocy is spending any more time on him and not current issues facing the country. Too many people have been radicalized that would be personally offended if what you said happened. Jan 6 was bad enough, reactionary actions would have been even worse with conviction.

I'm not saying I support anything he did that day on at all, I'm only saying an eternal focus on it is a pointless distraction for dem points like hilary emails for 2016 campaign.

If you're afraid to punish treason because of the threat of civil war, democracy is already choking out its last breaths.

And what alternative could you possibly suggest? If you allow attempted insurrections with just a slap on the wrist, then a successful one is inevitable. You think that hasn't resulted in multiple civil wars and destabilization in countries where this happened?

That won't come with a civil war, right? You think people will just sit around and watch that? Just wash their hands, hug each other, hand out flowers and sing?

You're terrible.

You are 110% convinced of your viewpoint.

You fail to understand there are others that are 110% convinced you are wrong. So if you had full power you would go out and punish everyone involved with the full might and fury of government.

Doesn't this sound familiar to you? Haven't you heard of this before? It's the middle east, where a minority is attached by a majority power. There is a war going on for thousands of years between two sides that will never agree. If the entire country had your shortsightedness we would quickly descend into two groups fighting to the death because neither can see the other side. All that matters is you're right and it is everyone else that is wrong. You'll never stop, even for a moment, to think that others think the same about you.

The end result is no reconciliation occurs.
