Assume the first game tells a standalone story so a sequel isn't needed to complete the story. Would you prefer a dev to release a new game under the same IP as a sequel with the same characters and setting? Or a new IP with new characters and a new setting but basically the same gameplay? --- #FeelTheBern http://i.imgur.com/q5z4CUu.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6B9oFXh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sy42Dlf.jpg ... I can enjoy either, depending on how well it's done. --- 2DS FC tempest 1478 9807 1205 ... Copied to Clipboard!

I prefer spiritual successors. Sequels have the potential to retroactively ruin a series. Especially if the director doesn't understand why the original was good/popular. And it's harder to skip bad instalments if they are directly related. --- http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltnafhjcUz1qmxswbo1_500.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

If the original already told a good standalone story, I'd prefer a spiritual successor. Even if I really loved the characters and world of the original story, I'd rather something new than an unnecessary extension. --- Currently playing: DFFOO, FFBE - 437,696,421 ... Copied to Clipboard!

I would say I'd prefer sequels, but some of my favourite games have been spiritual successors, so... --- You're so vain, You probably think this sig is about you. ... Copied to Clipboard!
