I never thought I would be that guy, but I've turned into a churner. Not just to get rewards(spend X in 3 months and get Y cash back) but now I have a good lineup optimized for most scenarios gas - card A has 4% back on gas restaurants - Card B has 3% back on resaurrants drug stores - card B has 3% back at drug stores grocery stores - card A gives me 2% back at grocery stores parking garages/meter parking - card C gives me 5% cash back on the highest spend category, which is used for parking as no other card gives me a benefit on parking everything else - I have two 1.5% cash back on every purchase cards... The parking card is going to give me $200 back after I spend $750(this is mainly on parking - purchases I'd be making anyways), one of the 1.5% cards will give me $250 back if I spend $500 in 3 months. For this one I will be buying one high ticket item to meet the goal and effectively get the $250 immediately(camera lens). This isn't like, life changing stuff, but damn...I know there are churners out there who have their shit optimized to a much greater degree than I do, but this is pretty good i'd say edit: a true churner would probably go an extra step further and get something like a citi double cash where you effectively get 2% back if you pay it on time, for general purposes not covered in a specific category, but I don't really want a fifth card. ... I churn. I very rarely spend money that's not on a credit card I'm working on a bonus towards. I don't even pay attention to non-bonus stuff because it's minimal over a 1.5% back card. I can pay my rent with visa for a minimal fee so it makes pretty much all my spending eligible to be paid on credit card. Basically I just follow reddits flowchart and focus on companion pass, which is super easy to get the next couple of weeks. https://m16p-churning.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/Card+Recommendation+Flowchart+v18.html This is really good too because bonuses are dynamic: https://travelcards.cardratings.com ... supergamer19 posted... Seems like a great way to maximize cash-back. Good on you, bud. The get 250 cash back for spending $500 was a "special" offer. Special in quotes because I don't know how special it is, but I had to input *personal codes* when I signed up. I've never seen an offer THAT generous and easy to complete. I've done $200 if you spend $500 before, but $250 for 500 is even better. I figured adding in more cards into the mix could be confusing, but I've got it down now to where I understand what I need to use in every scenario, so it's alright. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Just make sure you use them regularly. If you don't use them often enough, they'll cancel the card with no warning. You don't need to carry a balance, just make a purchase every so often. I had a card that I forgot about and they cancelled it 1 year after I'd last used it. They never even told me it was cancelled, let alone warn me it was in danger! --- Minutus cantorum, minutus balorum, Minutus carborata descendum pantorum. ... Copied to Clipboard!
