On Wednesday January 12, 2022, Elnaz Hajtamiri was abducted from a family members home in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, (Canada) by three men in a white SUV posing as Police Officers.

At the time of the incident, the public was only told that she had been taken by three men in a white SUV, with promises of more information to come, and by that Saturday, January 15th, Police had promised to update the public on their investigation the following Monday.

On Monday January 17th, it snowed, shutting down most of the province in blizzard conditions. The promised press conference would not come until Wednesday January 19th, a whole week after Elnaz's abduction. At this time police revealed they had recovered the stolen SUV used in the abduction and the abductors had presented themselves as police officers serving a warrant for her arrest. They also revealed she had been previously assaulted on December 20th 2021 by who they believe are the same men, where they tried to subdue her by hitting her with a frying pan.

On January 21st, ex-boyfriend Mohamad Lilo was charged with criminal harassment of Ms. Hajtamiri, though that information was not confirmed until today.

Police have images of two suspects (available in the above link) that they are seeking the public's help in finding.

Crazy that people can get away with shit like that, particularly for this long.

This is really frustrating because of how many resources are being pulled away to deal with the clownvoy. Found out that r/onguradforthee removed it for being "hyperlocal" despite the one man who has been charged being a resident of Montreal, and the assaults on Elnaz spanned several police jurisdictions and of course the biggest issue:

Fucking ridiculous that race-baiters try to spin that shit into being about race. Hell, in the US you recently had a father who -- because the police wouldn't do shit -- had to rescue his own daughter from sex traffickers and the cops, who did NOTHING about the crime, have the gall to try to charge him with murder when one of the sex traffickers was found dead in the trunk of a car.

Violence against women is a serious epidemic in general but there is a legitimate disproportion of it effecting women of colour because they tend to be marginalized individuals who are easy targets for serial killers.

It's an open secret in law enforcement that there are at least dozens of active serial killers who are on no one's radar. And the police are ill equipped to handle the investigations, especially when command decisions frequently quell the idea that any case may be related to a serial in any way.

We're in the fifth week of this. I'm sure there is a dedicated detective working the case diligently, so why do I feel like resources have been pulled to deal with the clownvoy.

I know I would reach a wider audience on the Mongolian basket weaving forum, but who knows, screaming into the void may yield results.

Censor is race-baiting yet again, surprise, surprise. And they're conveniently forgetting that Gabby Petito's murder wasn't even investigated until social media got on the case.

A good case to remember the next time police conduct a no-knock raid at 3 am and the home owner thinks s/he's being attacked by criminals and opens fire, when trolls try to blame him/her for the ensuing hail of gunfire by the police in return.
Bonus points if it's one of the many instances of SWAT having the wrong address, so the homeowners literally had 0.00% reason to ever think this could be happening to them!

The suddenly awakened civilian in darkness is supposed to be able to decipher in an instant whether the people breaking down their door are good or bad.
But a cop w/ many hours of training and experience in broad daylight can mistake any number or items for a gun or any number of slight motions as an attempt to reach for a (nonexistent) gun and open fire, and get considered justified nearly every time.

This case is very likely not the act of a serial killer, but there is a serious problem of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) in this country that should be kept in mind whenever we talk about the Police and there handling of cases involving violence against women; the history is quite frankly abysmal.

I do want to mention that although there is circumstantial evidence to suggest the ex's involvement, I have seen information that leads me to believe that his arrest may have no connection to Elnaz's abduction; and no I will not be posting that information at this time.

I learned a lot about serial killers after I learned about my grandfather, one of the most prolific serial killers to have never been caught; he was a protected man until the day he died, sheltered by the very individuals charged with investigating and prosecuting crimes, all because of a family Ancient, Free and Accepted.

That case is an example of another issue, cross jurisdictional failures. You had the family of the victim make the complaint in one state, the victim in another, and the perpetrator in a third.

It only took 5 days from the initial police report for it to hit the news and at that point all resources, including the addition of the FBI, were poured into the case. Gabby Petito's remains were found eight days after the initial police report.

It really does remove confidence in police interactions, and the lacklustre response from police has not helped. I am seriously considering verifying any police officer that approaches me with their command office through the public line; there is an irony that my own privilege would grant me the ability to do so, and would not be afforded to most people if they tried the same.

More then fourteen weeks, arrests have been made, suspects still outstanding, Elnaz has not been found.

I've been bumping it once a week, (mostly as a reminder to myself) I'm actually surprised it didn't die as I've been absent for most of the past two weeks since I hurt my arm in a fall.

CBC found out he had hired a PI firm that was following her in the days prior to the abduction but were called off the day of.

Based on the latest information, and contrary to my early thoughts, her ex looks to be in it over his head, though my personal theory about some of the circumstances that led to the abduction seem to be accurate based on the chatter I am hearing from the investigative community; police knew she was under threat, and failed to protect her to preserve their larger investigation into an international high end car theft ring.

On a side note, Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was car jacked by three armed assailants on Monday night, there have been 60 car jackings in the GTA since the beginning of the year vs 58 for all of last year.

I think he moved, I drive past his apartment once a month and his balcony was cleared out a couple of years ago; dude still has my stair climber dolly that I lent him to help move into the place. (my fault, should have picked it up ages ago)

Unless you meant Elnaz; yeah, all we know is that she is still missing, unclear if the ex is talking, the PI firm he hired to stalk her is supposedly cooperating fully.

Sounds like she was catfished and trafficked, lot of human trafficking going on in Canada too.

Police have been trying for decades to be allowed broad access to cellphone metadata (in a way that is usable for the purposes of prosecution) in order to correlate with missing persons cases and identify potential suspected serial killers currently operating in the country. For obvious reasons TELUS and other incumbent service providers have declined from allowing such broad access.
