Managed to get plenty of sleep yesterday. And it's already almost time to settle down for bed again.

Thank you all for the wishes. I guess I'll just update on things in here. The swelling isn't too painful but I definitely did get a concussion. No brain bleeding in the CT scan but I get that room spinning thing pretty bad if I tilt my head to the right or back up when I'm laying on my back.

I have an appointment at my usual hospital with a provider. Not my primary care provider but the care I've had there has always been pretty darn good. Will tell them about everything and log it to create a paper trail as well as checking how I am healing since it's been 2 days already.

Sounds like he concussed you pretty hard and gave your vertigo as a result. Hope you heal up nicely.

A friend said it might be a labyrinthine concussion, from the inner ear stuff getting rattled.

All things considered, no stitches or loss of teeth or anything is a miracle. And thank you Alucard. It means a lot when mods I rarely ever see pop in for this stuff.

I know the rest of the topic is probably just gonna be me making updates, but it helps to get this stuff off my chest. It's scary how one minute I was messaging my older sibling and ten minutes later I was bleeding all over myself after blacking out from from attack.

You defended yourself. I would hate to eye gouge even an opponent, but it sounded like this guy was out of his goddamn mind. Did you get any punches in?

I tried to eye gouge with one hand and choke him out with the other. As in, I know how to do erotic choking to partners and I consequently know how to knock someone out. But his height advantage kept me from getting a good grip in. In hindsight I should have just used my nails to scratch his face with one hand and throat punch with the other since he was using one hand to hold my shoulder and the other to deck me. Gods. But I am looking into martial arts and other self defense stuff for when I'm recovered.

Thank you. I'm still having a hard time with vertigo, even turning my head a little too much while laying down is enough to make the room spin still. But that's part of why I'm trying to just keep everything low pace.

Go figure the one time i don't have a pen or other makeshift weapon on me is the time I need it, though. Vigilant attitudes make a difference. Always be ready.

And yeah, if I hadn't fought back I don't know how much worse I'd have got.

Since reach was an issue, maybe you should get a larger weapon, like a machete... or even 2 machetes.

One of those swords that unfolds into a scythe?

Strike halfway along the bone on any appendage they wave at you. The nerves will typically be there.

The center upper thigh, the bicep, the solar plexus all have them and striking or kicking it will hurt and slow an attacker.

Dont turn your back to them and back away.

If they get close enough to you use the heel of your palm and smack the side of their head right on the earlobe. Also on the chest where the shoulder meets the arm just above the armpit.

I am not sure I know what those (folding sword scythe things) off the top of my head. Sounds familiar, but the closest I can recall are swords that fold out like knifes (basically the same type of design but sword-sized). I just have a professional obligation to promote machetes specifically because my username >_>

Might do to start packing pepper spray. Why bother fighting a dude when you can just make his life agony for a bit?

Yeah even if they are the fraction of a percent of people unaffected by it, they mix peper spray with tear gas in most generic cannisters these days. And the eyes aren't immune no matter who they are.

Normally I have a makeshift weapon if not a proper one on me. Really sucks but it's basic training that you have to assume the time you need it you won't have it so you should always have it. D;

Oh, and yeah I'll be going back to work tomorrow night. Hopwfully my replacement uniform pants will be there. I'll have so many forms to fill out too.

I got the footage I took from my work phone. But hearing his voice spiked my anxiety almost instantly. Not quite a panic attack but it sucks really bad.
