even though its true (that his base are a bunch of morons), its disingenuous and makes him look like a bigger clown. Why bring up his fear factor days as if that has anything to do with where he is now? he had a responsibility to nip this the moment it started but he only cares now that it might affect his money.

Yeah that's a bullshit statement coming from him. It would be one thing if he made an offhand comment one time and people ran with it as valid advice, but he's had so many guests come in specifically to talk about their covid misinformation. You can't spend several months giving "advice" and then go "lol it's your fault for taking my advice"

He's been calling himself a dumbass on his podcast for many years now. I believe he has said many times in the past, he's a guy having conversations, but he should not be taken as a source of what to do or how to live.

Maybe somebody should make a super-cut of all the times he's called himself a dumbass, because I think people who don't listen to him get some idea that he claims more authority than he does.

He has opinions, but I don't think he has ever argued anybody else needs to listen to his opinions.

I do think he tends to respect his guests opinions, so it is a different discussion if we are talking about the authority some of his guests have claimed, and if that was appropriate. But I don't think Joe himself claims any authority on anything, except MMA, and maybe elk meat.

The snake oil salesman telling the villagers that it's really their fault for being stupid enough to buy his snake oil isn't exactly going to save him from being tarred and feathered.

I think the idea is that it's obviously valid to criticize them, it's just not valid to criticize them as if they are a person claiming authority over truth or others when expressing their personal opinion.

Man this entire saga has really shown who has no fucking clue what the Joe Rogan podcast has been and will continue to be.

This is the philosophy Alice Cooper lives by but he actually sticks to it himself and doesn't make political statements.

I've noticed that too...They'll be the first to call out the "snowflakes" for not liking the joke, but are really the ones who get offended over it..."some jokes are offensive, deal with it" isn't a defense against criticism of that joke...it can still be unfunny...and if its not funny and also offensive you're really fucking up lol.

Didn't some other conservative lady with a show just pull the same defense in court? Her defense was something to the effect of "no reasonable person would take anything I say seriously".
