it's a joke. It's like we have all these extremely high powered tech by AMD and Intel but no game dev is making full potential of it anymore.

I watch all the PS5/Xbox comparison vids and it's all basically the same few, very few in fact... games: Doom, Assassin's Creed, RDR2... And well, that's... it, right?

There are also other promising games but they were released too early for prev-gen consoles and so had to be downgraded eg. Witcher 3, Cyberpunk.

The processing power graphics talk is at an all time high and the games are at an all time low.

It's the same thing as No Man's Sky or Cyberpunk, all hype no substance but since it's a console instead of a game it'll have you in anticipation of alleged games to come for a while after the purchase. It's grimy.

Cyberpunk actually did fit well for next-gen, although the graphics was still compromised for last-gen, which resulted in the mixed reviews it got. If you play Cyberpunk on next-gen only, it's a very solid game by itself.

Also another threat I see is the rise of the freemium gaming model. Game developers are realizing the lucrative market of freebie mobile games like how Activision jumped onto the bandwagon with Call of Duty Online. Honestly I think that's where the huge revenue stream now is.
I know friends that arent gamers but suddenly they're playing CoD Online despite never touching a CoD in their lives. Mobile games also has a far more wide-reaching market because it is more accessible to everyone in general, non-gamers included and people that game just to socialize with friends. Kids may also be deprived of consoles and can only game on mobile phones.

So why spend millions investing in some big budget AAA title these days which will wear out its use very quickly when you can just invest on a cheap ass free mobile game that can bring you a very very stable revenue that can last almost forever? Just look at game devs like Valve and Epic Games. They hit the jackpot with online games and now they're dont bother making new games any more

Sure it does. "Because I want to" is a perfectly fine reason to buy something if you have the funds to do it with.

I'm still using an OG Xbox one. No point upgrading until I buy a 4k projector, which costs about $4k...
I'm good with 1080p tho. Once you game on a 110" screen, resolution matters less.

Yes, but the intent seeks to answer why you want to. The generic response is "because", but that would be an answer only in the semantic sense, without actual meaning.

The new load times are amazing. Old games look a tad better and I had a launch X1 so the Series X was quite a leap

I want to because they have games I want to play on them.

If they didn't, or don't have quite enough games that interest me to justify the purchase of the console in the first place, I wouldn't.
