Everyone wakes up in a different place each time they sleep, but they learn they were eating bread made from walking seeds, and they've been growing stems and pistils and stuff in their sleep, and oh my god what a twist!!!!!

A Group of Scientists Suggest that Plants Feel Pain

For years, scientists are baffled by the question of whether plants can feel pain or not. A team of scientists from Tel Aviv University may have the answer to that question, as they discovered that some plants can emit a high-frequency distress sound when in environmental stress.
The team of researchers tested tobacco plants and tomato plants by not watering them and by cutting off their stems. They then recorded their response with a microphone that was placed ten centimeters away.
In both cases, the scientists found that the plants began to emit ultrasonic sounds that were between 20 and 100 kilohertz, which they believed could convey their distress to other organisms and plants within the vicinity. When the stem of a tomato plant was cut, the researches found it emitted 25 ultrasonic distress sounds over the course of an hour, according to the study that was published in Live Science.
The tobacco plants that had its stem cut sent out 15 distress sounds. When the team of scientists deprived each plant of water, the tomato plants emitted even more distress sounds, increasing to 35 in one hour, while the tobacco plants made 11. The plants also seemed to respond with the different intensities of sound to different sources of environmental stress. They observed that the tobacco plants let out louder sound when they were not watered than when they had their stems cut.
The plants that did not experience any environmental stress, damage, or threat released less than one ultrasonic sound per hour.

The Short Hand reference for Average Human Hearing Range = 20 Hz -> 20 kHz
Practical Frequency Range of at least 21-50 Hz -> 20-25 kHz
Extreme Limit of Human Hearing Frequency Range for those with specially good ears = 8 -> 28 kHz

Most humans, as they age into adulthood naturally lose some of their hearing ability on the extreme Low End and Top End frequency ranges.

Dont forget the technology youre using might impact what youre hearing, so this isnt an entirely accurate experiment.
Unless you have a hearing impairment, most people can hear around 8,000 Hz.
But over 50s will struggle to pick up anything above 12,000 Hz.
If you can hear 17,400 Hz, youre either a teenager or superhuman. Or maybe both

i liked touching Mimosa pudica as a kid. A plant that closes when touched. There were a bunch around my grandma's house.

30 hz is very quiet for me
past 17200 hz i stop hearing the beep

in 2019 i was able to hear up to 17.6 khz so i lost some of that upper-frequency hearing.

That's the problem with aging, you'll lose the extreme ends of the Lower/Upper range as you grow older.

Sad facts of life where as you age, you can't enjoy the upper range as much as when you were younger.

the first listen i heard it somewhere in the 30s but didnt understand what I was watching, then I could hear something low at 25, and it goes away somewhere at 17000

it also randomly cuts out for me around 130 which is weird
