The producers of the Halo TV Series set to release on Paramount+ weren't kidding when they said Master Chief would be as backseat character as the series does NOT revolve around him as he is a supporting character but instead will be lead by Australian Newcomer, Yerin Ha and OTHER kickass FEMALE protagonists and villains!!

Master Chief has a small role in the Halo live action series but some fans are concerned that the writers got too creative with the show and went another direction to not focus on the main character who made the hit series.

He instead will be a minority protagonist while a space orphan named Quan Ah is the 16 y/o lead of the series who is a space scavenger and has incredible power insider that she will discover throughout the series

The producers wanted a strong female lead and promised a diverse cast of characters from all walks of life but more female centric than some fans might expect

She will be joined by 3 spartans who are also described as kickass female soldiers, Kai-125 and Riz-028 and went further to say they want to kick the patriarchy in the balls with this series by having Makee, a female antagonist, easily defeat master chief in a battle and Quan Ah will try to SAVE him and the world

Do you expect the sexist halo fan brigade to riot over this female butt kicking series?

I have a suggestion.

If they want a video game adaptation to be female-centric, wouldn't they be best off to pick a series which actually has a heavy female focus? I mean, it's not like women are non-existent in games or are all objectified bikini warriors. They could easily do a Tomb Raider series where she's a Latina lesbian. The character was originally going to be Lara Cruz. They could easily say that that was her birth name and that Croft is an alias. And she was more or less shipped with another woman in the reboot.

I'm just saying.

It's probably a better idea than doing a series about an armored male space marine and making it female-centric.

Had enough Master Chief in the games and story already, i'm fine with them going a different directions and focusing on different Spartans. I think the show is gonna be a bit goofy and campy, more like Starship Troopers, so i'm not all too concerned with the story being the driving force.

I sort of agree with you, in that there are better series to choose from if you want to make a cool, engaging, female-driven series.

But its been done with Halo beforethe whole I love bees guerilla marketing campaign for Halo 2 had a story that involved a very diverse cast with a strong focus on female characters, both in the game itself as well as in the audio drama story that accompanied it.

The trailer looks cool and all, but honestly, I have little faith in an actual Halo show no matter what direction they go.

I doubt it. I'm of the same opinion that it's probably not going to be great, but a LOT of people will subscribe and watch it, or redeem their free trials to watch it. The ratings alone will likely cement it for at least a 2nd season, it will break viewership records on their service, or come close. That's just my hunch though, I could be wrong.

Who exactly is this appealing to? Who looks at Halo and goes "oh, I sure would prefer these nobodies to Chief or Noble Six"

Show will fail because the viewers didnt come for the newcomers story, they came for master chief. They essentially are asking people to follow this new character and forget about their expectations. That and yes many people on the right will call it woke, its in a bad position and has a huge uphill battle to cover, in which it wont.
