I was just planning on joking around in CaC mode anyway. Just see Clownbaby's face every time you wallop that training bag.

The game is so much worse than UFC3. You can't simulate training. You can't even end the training after you've done the requirements. You have to passively wait until the end of the session. And the ground control system is somehow worse.

Haven't played a UFC game since the X360 era (which is where my character is from), but so far, I'm mostly digging kicks and punches and not liking grapple stuff. And as far as simulating training, you can simulate the week which (I think) includes training, but I'm not sure. There's a risk of injury if you simulate with over 10 weekly points remaining or something, so it's not something I'm gonna test around with much.

Anyway, knowing I can injure my opponents makes this way more enjoyable.

I kicked Todd Duffee's ass and now his relationship stat with me (which controls whether I can trick him into teaching me his moves lol) dropped. Guess that makes sense. In the MLB game I play, when you strike batters out or clown on pitchers, their rivalry stats change accordingly.

Just got on to check out the caf and wow there are so many options. They have goku hair and all types of goofy shit.

Only browsed a little, but they have some weird stuff, like samurai faceplates, rainbow-colored horse heads, etc. Y'know, for Octagon accuracy.

Kicked Steve Craig's ass, but it took three rounds and we were both on our last legs. He's a three-star fighter, so I guess it was twice as hard as the usual jank I've been sending to the funeral home. Also: legendary clown suit? Damn expensive.

Eventually learned a few new moves. One's a question mark kick, where you can't tell where you're gonna hit someone, and another is a jumping two-touch spin kick, as seen in the Three Ninjas movies (probably).

Lol damn, how do you deal with clinch positions and groundwork? My stamina drains so fast compared to the a.i it's rough trying to transition.

My dude has really high stamina, so he doesn't have that much trouble, even as a rookie. However, I don't like grappling, so I just tend to get a punch or two in and then get back up. Can't do roundhouses while you're on your back!

There's a ton of combos you can do, so maybe a bit. You could probably noob your way through with just a few moves, though. At least, that's what I've been doing on medium difficulty or something.

Yeah, and if you get injured or something, your stats can permanently (or temporarily) decrease. I'd suggest specializing in at least one discipline (I do kicks) so every battle isn't a three-round turtle fight. On a bright note, if you get injured in training, you can retry to avoid that outcome; and, if you get injured in a normal fight, you can just reload the game and it won't count.

Well that sucks, permanent damage. Fuck it I'm going for a strong clinch fighter, nothing but knees to the face although standing power kicks to the head is great.

I wouldn't mind permanent damage if it didn't come so randomly. Maybe there's an option to turn it off or something somewhere so players don't have to bother with ridiculous injuries before they've even made it big. Some of the "friendly" sparring partners can even mess you up, as seen in that screen above. Dude's trying to teach me a move and he ends up putting me in the hospital for 90 days, lol. Speaking of which, passage of time is real for injury recoveries, so if you want a long-term character, make sure they're as young as possible. I was gonna make a grandpa guy for kicks, but ended up starting at 30 instead.

Really fun game

I almost used that same billowy beard, but you can't colorize it, so I took it off. It doesn't match Clownbaby's natural hair color. How'd you get the crown already, though? It's a legendary unlockable!

EDIT: Oh, must be a character you used on a different game. T-that's cheating!

So I chose southpaw which is the natural stance for me, is it just me or is it random chance you can clinch an opponent, r1 and triangle usually just does an overhand punch. I remember it being way easier in 3.

Yeah, sometimes you have to change your stance to get your moves to work properly. I'm not that familiar with the control scheme of this series, so it's kind of annoying. It doesn't help that lots of combinations you're button-mashing don't even work until you pay some homies to teach you abilities, haha.

Its not that you have to change your stance to do moves, you just need to reverse the input.

and I think I may have bought the crown with the currency you earn from leveling. I bought the game on release

This one is actually really easy compared to pay ones, it's more like an actual fighter with really forgiving combos. The only difficult thing I would say is just remembering which shoulder buttons to hold for modified. The new grapple system is supposed to be easier but I found it annoying the legacy is better. You can also adjust how much damage you do in the settings, so you can make your attacks stronger and the AI's weaker or change how much stamina you use for moves, it's very approachable for new players

Yeah, the controls seem kind of annoying, but you can change your moves by using shoulder buttons. It's taken forever by just winging it, but I'm starting to learn how to do certain moves whenever I feel like (mirrored controls are still harder...eh well). Overall, the controls have been pretty good. Just sucks that there are "combinations" you can press that don't do much of anything because you haven't learned a move for that slot.

Also, I saw if your stats get damaged, you can repair them for a nominal fee (mine was 2 points or something), so maybe it's not that bad after all. Injured my leg kicking Junior Dos Santos' ass with my roundhouses o' doom.
