It may not be as bad as smoking (which I have no idea how anyone can find enjoyable), but every time I attempt to drink a beer thinking "maybe this time will be different", nope.

I've even tried some of those flavored beers (last one was some sort of orange cream thing), took one sip and dumped the rest in the sink.

I only drink beer that I liked the taste of. My local grocery store started carrying Dragon's Milk, so I usually have one of those or a Backwoods Bastard every night.

Theres a lot of different types of beer out there. You probably only had shitty IPA.

Porters and stouts usually taste good to me. Theres 47 different types though. The stronger the porter for example the more bitter it might taste.

You probably are super sensitive to bitter and can't get past that aspect of it. On the other hand, I don't sense black coffee as bitter anymore.

So I can taste the things beyond the bitter.

I always crave a beer whenever I'm working hard at something; whether that's the lawn, shoveling, cooking a long meal, or working on something in the house. The taste is fine - depending on what kind I got.

you dont see someone tasting Ike, prune juice or some shit and then claiming all juice is bad

or having a terrible store brand cola and saying people must not drink soda for the taste

there is a wide array of flavors to beer, and of course every beer thats just a bunch of adjuncts added isnt going to be great, but to write it all off is so silly to me

It is, Cantillon is one of the best breweries in the world and the price mirrors that. And Gouden Carolus is still produced.

i honestly think the base beer is trash, I still have a ton of it from the years I went

but I live a few hours from Munster, and Im a big metal fan, so as a beer-trading and metal festival, tickets to DLD are generally worth it to me even without the beerthats just a bonus

In fairness, American beer has a reputation for being shit and if you live in Europe, most of the American beer we get is considered shit so it's easy to see why somebody would make that statement.

And a good chunk of beer imported to America is shit too but nobody makes that statement. Many of the mass produced foreign beers are total shit (just like mass produced/macro beer in America). It's a dumb statement to make in either direction because it eliminates all nuance and discussion.

I feel bad for anyone outside of Canada who drinks a Molson Canadian and thinks that's the best Canada can do as far as beer goes.

I'll be honest, the taste of beer doesn't do much for me now. But when I was a kid, my dad would do the "have just a little sip" thing, and that beer was the most delicious thing I'd ever put in my mouth ever. It's like my kid tastebuds could appreciate it, but now that I'm adult it's just drab.

I think it was maybe the fact that I could taste the alcohol back then. It actually made it flavorful. And it was ice cold and perfectly fizzy. I wonder what brand it was, I think it was something generic.
