Can you think of any reason the US should keep the south? Because it seems to me that that region of the country is nothing but a financial drain, and an anchor of progress.

I mean, has the south EVER contributed ANYTHING of value socially, intellectually, or artistically?

The alternative is an independent, unrestrained South.

Whether that collapsing on itself in 15 or so years is worth what people there might have to endure during those 15 years is not a question with an objective answer, and you'd likely get differing answers even from people who agree on most related subjects.

It wouldnt be surprising if they didnt, considering TCs whole point seems to be that they think the country would be better off without the states that have the most black people.

...it's far more likely TC just didn't think beyond "what are the politicians and stereotypes like" than that he actually wants to get rid of Black people.

Maybe, but also it's a bit ridiculous to jump straight to assuming the worst intention in a context like this (where the South is generally known for, or at least stereotyped as, being racist / etc, and that's almost certianly what the TC is referencing).

That's not to say it should never be assumed if the appropriate evidence is there to suggest the person in question might've meant something that way, but this really isn't a case like that.

That to me sounds like your defending generalizations and stereotypes.

I'm acknowledging that in this case, someone was probably referencing those, not the relative populations of different ethnic groups in those states (a detail many people aren't even aware of).

How valid stereotypes are or aren't, or how okay generalizations are or aren't, has literally zero bearing on whether a given person's thoughts were based on them or not.

The Southeast needs to become it's own country so the rest of the US dont have to deal with their shit anymore.
