Did you work two jobs? I don't even understand how you can be productive during that time.

Big agree. And it is definitely weird how people will give you a hard time for thinking that. I know theres at least one user on here who would.

I know their whole thing is sleep eight hours, work eight hours, and have eight hours to yourself but that last bit doesnt include getting ready for work, commuting, unpaid lunch breaks, etc. Depending on how much you have to drive, you may only get four or five hours a day to have real you time and I think thats fucked.

The standard work day really should be five or six hours at the most (with wages adjusted of course).

Yes it's too much. After 55 hours your productivity is basically down to nothing (and you make more mistakes that you have to fix the next week), and it's also not good for your health.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/on-leadership/wp/2015/08/24/working-more-than-55-hours-a-week-is-bad-for-you-in-many-ways/

a study published in the British medical journal the Lancet had an alarming warning for people who work more than 55 hours a week: They appear to have a 33 percent higher risk of stroke than those toiling a more sane 35 to 40 hours each week, and a 13 percent increased risk of coronary heart disease, too.

a Stanford researcher published a study showing that productivity begins to fall off at about 50 hours per week. After 55 hours, it plummeted, with no discernible difference in output for those who worked 70 versus 56 hours a week.

I did 60 for three years straight and it felt like 40 after a few months. Regardless, I wish we could all do 32 and call it good.
