It's probably kinda overkill for what I need, but it'll last me a while right?

GPU benchmark is >15k, right now my best laptop has 1.3k so it'll be a big improvement lol

Meh, Id go for one with a 3060ti instead. Youll also eat up 512 quick

The RX 6600XT is pretty close to the RTX 3060 in performance if I'm not mistaken. That card will probably be good enough to game on for a few years, but you'll probably see yourself turning down the graphics settings and wanting a new card in 3-5 years depending on what kind of games you play.
It will probably have a low quality power supply, cooling, and other small things, but it will be good enough to get you by. You could build something with similar specs but overall higher quality parts (case, PSU, fans) for the same price or cheaper. If you really don't want to build anything, than this is probably good enough.

It looks like this pc has a 1TB HDD as well as the SSD. While performance will be slow on the secondary drive, it's good enough for storing things like movies and files to free up room for games.

those are a good $400-600 more, and i don't plan on doing much intensive PC gaming anyway. I wanna run vrchat and the new taiko game, and do some 3D modeling and video editing lol

Also it comes with a 1TB HDD and ive literally never used close to that much space on a computer

Oh I am kind of interested in building... but it looks like this GPU is $700-800 alone. Could i seriously build something comparable for cheaper?

Honestly, at this point no. Just get that pre built then. Youll end up really looking for cheap parts

There are worse configs out there. It's a weird pairing, though. The 5600g is weaker than the 5600x, but has an iGPU in it. The 6600 XT is a graphics card that can do 1080p high settings pretty reliably. The 1TB HDD is garbage, and only adds $40 in value to the build. I also don't like that case. The front grille is cosmetic; it doesn't actually have all that much airflow.

Oh, oh wait. I know why that budget pre-built has a 5600g. It comes with a Wraith Steath cooler, so that's less money they're spending on cooling. At the end of the day, you're spending $1000 on a computer that you'll be ugrading the storage and cooling on. It's an HP Pavilion, so look for it to have a proprietary motherboard and PSU couplings. I'd look at the machine in store before buying it to make sure that it looks good.

Just FYI, you can't use a HDD for modern games. It will stutter worse than a last gen console. I speak from experience. You need a SSD

I tried playing Dragon's Dogma with it running off of my Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM HDD, and my god, the stuttering was bad. Reeeeeeally bad. Platter drives are good for old games and media storage. That's it. Modern games can't handle it.

It would take some effort and deal searching, but it's possible. Used parts or used systems can really help your budget as well (although I don't know if I'd buy a used GPU).
Really if you aren't planning on doing intensive gaming this build should be fine. Even if the PSU and cooling was garbage, you could upgrade that yourself for cheap down the road.
The only real issue I could think of is the motherboard. HP has notoriously bad driver support. I cannibalized an HP gaming pc for a build around the time UEFI was becoming the standard. The motherboard they supplied was absolutely terrible. The BIOS it came with had a sort of pseudo UEFI support which was so bad that no modern UEFI GPU would work with it. They never released a BIOS update for it. Granted this was years ago, but it's still something to keep in mind.
