It's probably not your fault. It's society who usually fails us. I know it's hard but keep searching.

I know how it feels man. Went through 3 different jobs yesterday. Don't give up.

it's just a numbers game and luck! having 7 interviews is still an accomplishment. you'll probably be so relax and chill at one of the next few interviews that you totally nail it.

this. i used to do 1 a month, so i did 12/year. took me until the 30th interview to get hired. even funnier, all 30 interviews were with the same agency

It depends on the position, interviews are one thing but sending applications is arduous and debilitating when you constantly get no responses.

Know how you feel. I went through 4 and never even got a callback or reply. Now I cant even get another interview yet.

Yeah I've gotten tons of no responses or the rare they email you and tell you that you didn't get it. But 9 times out of 10 if I get the interview I get the job.

Walmart is oddly the only place that would never hire me. Had a few interviews and even once they said I practically had the job but never called back. Didn't get a job after a interview with burger King once but a year later another location called me without me applying and asked if I still was interested. Got that one.

Glad Walmart didn't hire me though. Funny they said it hinged on my background check. I got a interview with the prison shortly after and got the job. I guess they got me mixed up with someone. Prison asks for a lot more info. Food lion never gave me a interview but when I asked why (I knew people there) they said they did a background check qnd it came up I was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Which was false. They got my brother mixed up with a sex offender too. They just sucked at back ground checks

Can you ask them what you were missing.

You need to talk to someone about the this background check thing. If I am reading it correctly more then one place had bad information on you. If this happened once that would be horrible but twice seems to suggest that is something on your record that is showing up on some searches that should not be there . You need to get that clear out.

I'm good for now. I plan to make my current job my career. The prison is the easiest job I've ever had that paid well.

I never got confirmation on if that was the case with Walmart or they just lied to me about having it in the bag so to speak. I didn't care to follow up since I got this job with far better pay and benefits.

Most jobs I've had only ask for basic ass info. The prison wanted the city I was born in where I've lived for the past 10 years and a bunch of shit.

Might sound sad but I had to guess at the spelling of my birth city cause I never even really lived in that state let alone city and its a weird name. Eglin airforce base in Shalimar city in Okaloosa County. None of that is easy to remember if you aren't familiar with it.

Yeah job hunting is the worst part of jobs period to me. Especially in this day and age where it's online and it's so finicky about the info you type in. I miss paper applications

I only worry that my facility will inevitably shut down. There are other prisons for sure but it's said mine is pretty unique. In terms of how we run things and the fact we do act like a family. Never have I worked somewhere where people will take the blame for something cause they don't wanna throw a co worker under the bus also quite common for officers to look out for someone they don't even like sometimes outright hate. Like if someone falls asleep waking them up when a Sgt is coming instead of letting them get caught.

Ahh. Isnt the economy there kind of stressed right now from COVID? I know a few people in Recife that are struggling lately.

Sucks but keep trying. If you are being interviewed but not hired you may want to spend a bit more time really focusing on your interview technique. You likely have the paper qualifications but arent coming off in person as a good fit for some reason. Got to figure out if there is something you can do to improve that.

Yeah, the economy is stressed but the tech industry is still blooming I'd say. I'll keep trying but all the rejections take their mental toll. I'm feeling depressed :(

AT least you are getting interviews, which is something. And I'm assuming you have the actual qualifications for the jobs.

How are interviews like in Brazil? Like what kind of questions do they ask?

this depends on the job, how technical it is and big of small of a lie you are saying

I was really bad with the interview process back when I was looking at the bullshit minimum wage jobs before I went to technical school. I would always put my foot in my mouth and just say the wrong thing.

Post technical school, I've been fine...because I actually got into an industry where I was offering concise and to-the-point-necessary services for an employer.
