Femputer 01/28/22 1:07:03 PM #1:	This is a large personal failing of mine and I don't know how to change it. Like if a friend starts talking about voodoo or magic or angels or god (so basically any faith), I mentally go "oh, no" I never treat them differently. No patronizing, no changing the subject. I handle it with respect and all Just in my head I'm like "damn I can't believe they believe that's real" How tf do I stop doing that? Maybe it's from my nursery-12th grade catholic school upbringing, but I'm more interested in stopping it than I am in why I'm like this to begin with --- Have you any idea how it feels to be a Fembot living in a Manbot's Manputer's world? I wouldn't try to change how you think about the subject because there is nothing wrong with it. --- I do not receive notifications, so using the @ feature will not do anything. Rather than thinking "I can't believe they believe this", focus more on figuring out why it would be important to them. Is it security in knowing that they're good deeds will eventually be rewarded even if the people they help don't return the favor? Is it fear of being forgotten? Is it simply an inability to grasp the infinite complexity of a universe born from nothing? Like someone could believe in stuff like heaven and hell, but how their personality is or how they are as a person is rarely related to those kind of metaphysical beliefs. I think humans take what other people say they believe too literally and assigns it too much value than warranted, if half the religious people actually had their actions mapped 1 to 1 to their beliefs then their actions would be much different, and in the end character and actions are more important than verbalized spiritual/intellectual beliefs.
