How much would you have to be paid daily to take the daily over the one time payout?

If it was 500 dollars a day, for example, would you go that route instead? 182.5k a year, that's a million in what... like 6 years?

1 million because if i suddenly die tomorrow the money can be given to my family.

Oh yeah in my case i could survive off 500 dollars a day so it would be a nice deal. Dont have to worry about finding work and id prob drop out of the classes im taking rn lol.

When my husband was consulting, he charged up to $300 an HOUR (many people charge a lot more than that). $150/day is not much. But $1M isnt a whole lot, either, depending on how long it has to last.

Heres one I would take in a heartbeat, though. One cent on day 1, and then double it each day.

Uh, the million bucks so I can immediately pay off all my debts, buy a house and invest the remainder

500. That's solid enough that I don't need to aim for rich to be konfident enough to afford living without working.

Million now and invest it. You'll do better than getting such a small amount daily.

I was just joshin' with the insider joke. We had insiders from years ago, but no one leaks anything on /biz/ anymore since it's heavily monitored by the team. Also, it was always a bit suspicious that Sergey was gungho about building smart contracts from before Ethereum was even released.

The 150. The million has potential to be a lot better but the 150 guarantees that even if I make a big mistake I will continue to have enough to live on for the rest of my life. Plus it's more than I make already.

$150 should buy a lot of crack for now

$150/day is $4500/month in passive income.

You could spend that $1M to buy 2-3 rental properties, probably be earning about the same amount in passive income almost immediately, and most property will appreciate in value as long as you're smart and not buying trash so when you're done getting free money for a long time, you can sell those properties 15-20 yrs from and they'll probably net you $1.5M lol

A lot come down to your tolerance for investment risk. If you are only interested in sure things, like a fixed annuity, then I'd need less per day. If I want to take on more risk, I'd want more per day.

Based on potential earnings in your career, investment percentage lost, time gained, inflation estimations...$822 per day.

Everyone's starting situation is different, but I'm assuming most of you are 30 or younger, and either do not own a home, or are in the first decade of your mortgage.

$150 a day is a little less than $55k a year.

If you have a family and a mortgage, there's zero chance you can retire on that without living "paycheck to paycheck".

Let's say your mortgage is $1500 a month. Add in the amenities involved in owning home (TV/Streaming, Internet Utilities, Groceries, general maintenance), that's AT LEAST another $700 a month. Add in homeowners insurance, property taxes, etc.

We're talking at least $2500 of your monthly $4500ish already spent before you buy a single "non-essential" item.

Also keep in mind if you're "retired" but not old enough to receive Medicare/Medicaid, you'll have you buy health insurance. There's another few hundred a month.

Now, someone like myself, who's almost 44 and has less than a decade left on their mortgage, I could probably stop working at my current job, get something part time, and live off of $150 a day, combined with my wife's salary.

How many people who have never had or seen 1 million in their lives, would truthfully wait 18 years for interest when they could spend it now?

1 million for sure. You only need 5.5%~ return to pull ahead in year income with the million and you always have the entire million itself to fall back on.

Sad how you're now the 3rd or 4th person that has said that in 75 posts, and people are STILL going with the $150 a day.

About 50 k a year seems reasonable, especially on top of everything else. Also most people would probably blow a million immediately. Or even just lose more than half before they can figure out investing.

Either way I'd have more than a million over time with not so much risk.
