Has anyone progressed a fair amount in either of these websites? I've heard The Odin Project is one of the best ways to self-teach HTML/CSS/JavaScript. I've been wanting to get into it. Right now I'm going through a course on udemy about CSS, but only a few hours in. I'm also up to the Applied Visual Design section in part one freeCodeCamp. It's a lot of fun. It's all basic stuff that I already know, so I'm just waiting to get into more advanced features & hopefully will get more familiar with JavaScript very soon.

My first language is Python, which I started learning last year. But I'm taking a break to learn more about web development.

This book is one of the most amazing programming books I've ever come across. It's easy to follow along and learn the absolute basics of the language. I can recommend other Python books if you want, but start with this one first. It will be one of the best $20 you'll ever spend.

Cheers. I feel like I may have picked that up in a humble bundle, uh, bundle

This is the course I was talking about in the OP. I had to put the url in a tinyurl because of GameFAQs character limits. The main person (there's two) doing the voice over has a fantastic way of explaining things. I'm still in the beginning stages like I mentioned, so I'm just relearning things I've previously learned, but some time this week I should be learning more advanced CSS stuff.

No ideas on those sites since they were created after I already knew my stuff, so I didn't seek them out.

The general consensus is that The Odin Project is better, but if I recall correctly, you actually do part of FreeCodeCamp for The Odin Project. I already know how to code (I do it as a hobby, not professionally) but I didn't care for the lack of rigor with FreeCodeCamp. TOP has more depth, and requires more of you as a student.

I've been working on this udemy bootcamp since November. It's 60 courses and like 55 or so hours long. I will be finished with it this weekend, just wrapping up this project. The ending videos have been kind of a drag, but I'm going to finish it anyway. The overall course has been about web development, and has also been dealing with Mongoose / Express.

That looks fun @_@ how much time have you invested? And how far are you?

I'm getting that sense. I've already invested several hours into the first course, and I'm over half way done. I want to at least finish this course, and maybe the next two; the first dealing with JavaScript and the second with Front End, but we'll see how it goes.
