I get that but there is no reason to point it out. The two dont go hand in hand. This notion that they only cast a Latina actress because of her race and to be progressive is just as bad a thing to perpetuate. Is it not possible that she got the role in her own merits? He can be upset about dwarfs without saying anything about the actress. If hed be fine with dwarfs as long as the lead was white because then at least it wouldnt be just half progressive then hes wrong.

I get his point, I disagree with his idea. We need to stop acting like a Latina getting this role is just because theyre trying to be progressive. Its worth noting because this is new for the industry. Breaking down walls and allowing anyone to play any role regardless of their race is a good thing that needs to be normalized. (The fact that there will be people questioning a Latina Snow White [as someone itt already did] means we arent quite there yet). But a Latina playing Snow White is not the same as deciding not to cast little people.

He didn't say that she was cast as a token in their bid to be progressive. He said it was progressive that she was cast. Quite a difference between those two things.

They are stolen they haven't had a fucking original idea their entire existence. Even Steamboat Willie was stolen.

Were in control of the story and dont owe anything to previous iterations. Seems fine to make them a humorous collective of anyone. How are they changing the origin of the Snow White moniker?

There's a big difference between making Dragonball and going "I used Journey to the West as my base inspiration" versus straight up robbing Grimms fairy tales into movies for 40 years and then remaking them after you've robbed them all.
