It's mostly cause my job has just been totally burning me out. Sick hours started over for the new year, so I've been taking off a day or 2 each week.

Thought about looking for a new job?

I have so many PTO hours Im having to take time off so since Ive hit the limit and quit accruing.

I use my pto pretty liberally throughout the year. I get 5 weeks a year, plus 7 sick days and 11 paid holidays. I try to take a day off at least every 3 weeks plus we are required to have at least one consecutive week off at some point during the year (this is not enforced though). I take off for my b-day, my wife's, even my dogs sometimes. I take off when there's a game I'm excited about. I take off the whole day when I have an appointment or if I need an oil change.

And it still doesn't feel like enough most of the time.

You take off your dogs birthday and you dont feel like you get enough time off? Life must be tough.

It's a lot of time but the pay is bad. I work in a group home for adults with disabilities. I wanted to quit before covid and was considering it at the time. Since my plan has been to ride out covid with my job security but covid never ends.

I haven't been taking sick days unless I'm actually sick, because if you're gone for a day the rumor mill thinks you have covid

Maybe you and most of America should have taken COVID seriously TC and maybe the great burnout wouldnt be happening around all industries.

yeah no one ever got burnt out at work before covid

it's worth it.

my dog torments me to no end sometimes. still love her regardless.

TC has literally posted about how he doesnt want to get the vaccine even if he didnt have a medical reason to not get it.

If anyone is being ignorant, its people that post that kind of garbage. I would have apologized if I had mixed TC up, but that site confirms it and you dont have to look far for it either.
