I want to say that I enjoyed the game and the subject of ~~immortality~~ and the thousand years of dreams stories are what made me enjoy the game the most. I did like how you could slowly build up skills with certain characters from other team mates, so there's that customization aspect. If you like FF IX you should like Lost Odyssey as it has many of the same RPG mechanics. Agree with the kids though. Just whenever the combat might have started to get old, it added some new system that made it more difficult to use while allowing you to do more damage. You can dislike Lost Odyssey without making it a weird Xbox vs PS3 battle. I said PS2 not 3. There weren't many good jrpgs on the PS3 either. The entire generation in general was lacking in the jrpg department. At least on the home console department.
