Do you hate rich fat cats because they're more "successful" than you?




according to statistics, conservatives believe that liberals have such a strong hate towards successful millionaires, billionaires and even trillionaires because they are "jealous" of their success and want them to pay for everything including healthcare, schooling and demanding higher wages.

It's no secret that conservatives believe in the "work for your success" mindset and even though the majority of them are not as rich as those people living on cloud 9 as they claim the AREN'T jealous of their success because they a) they will get their one day or b) they think those people earned their capitalistic wealth and liberals have no say in how they should spend their money or that government should take away their success.

Conservatives believe rich people are used as scapegoats for liberals who are living paycheque to paycheque and want to blame the rich for everything and demand government to increase their taxes so they can fund public resources and that's why they say "eat the rich"

There are certain financial opportunities that I don't take advantage of because I would feel immoral doing so, even if they are legal.

Sure maybe time to time there's a particular thing a billionaire is able to do that I'm jealous of, but if that was the motivation for me disliking billionaires, there are a lot more people I need to dislike.

I don't hate billionaires, but I think when there are people with more money than they can spend In 50 lifetimes, and homeless veterans are starving and freezing to death, maybe some of those billions could be contributed toward society and thinning the line between absolute poverty and inconceivable wealth. This is why I have no issue taxing them heavier, they can afford it without blinking, and see more going toward housing and care of the homeless.

The decent human in me would never sit on billions while others suffer and die. I wouldn't feel right not contributing toward helping others. Its unrealistic, sure, I'm not delusional thinking something like this could actually happen, I get that it won't. Maybe some of these people in political office can make more of an effort to be moral and concern themselves with people over money, being they love to call themselves Christians and god loving people.

Empathy means you have the capacity to understand another person's feelings. It isn't the same thing as compassion or kindness. Someone with a high capacity for empathy can still use it to manipulate or exploit other people.

Sounds true to me. Conservatives are just more honest in that they wouldn't be any different if filthy rich.

People would hate on me too if I was rich. I'd donate heavily to particular causes but it would only be maybe 2 or 3 that I cared about more than the rest. And my number 1 would be animals.

But they aren't understanding other people's feelings. They are ascribing a feeling to a large group of people based off of what THEY think. It has nothing to do with empathy.

I'm suggesting that they actually do understand the feelings of liberals when they say liberals are actually jealous of the wealthy. But most people don't like to admit they're jealous, because it makes them look petty or hypocritical.
