There are some funny bits here and there and Hilary Duff's charm is evident but it is going to be hard to justify continuing watching this. No direct shots of it, but the second episode opens with a lulu-lemon-clad hillary and the other chick getting a sweaty barefoot aerobic workout on. So. That was pleasant. Her rack is great too, that is featured several times. On everything else: If I'm being honest, I didn't despise it. A few months ago, I had totally forgotten this was happening. Then, the trailer came out back in December, which sent my expectations into the toilet. The trailer made it look horrible. On that front, the trailer succeeded in lowering my expectations to a point where I was not overly disappointed in the first two episodes. The dialogue was hit and miss. The characters spoke in the same awful acting dialect that the cast of HIMYM did. The situation with Ian ~~was a positive in my eyes actually. Like HIMYM, this show is going to have a lot of uncertainty in Hillary's life, so opening with a big question mark like that actually got me "hooked."~~ The hardest part to stomach honestly is the millennial lingo. Maybe I'm jaded, but the constant reminders of Tinder, texting, DMing, those are absolutely grating. The first episode had a ton of it, the second one backed off somewhat. Phone stuff is going to be a prominent part of the series as Hillary learns to "live in the moment," so we may be stuck with the phone lingo for a while as she likely will be trying to fight it on a regular basis. I'm going to give the show its fair chance because Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, the showrunners of HIMYM, earned it. HIMYM was a truly great sitcom, and even though they didn't stick the landing with HIMYM's ending, they've earned the goodwill. Remember, HIMYM season 1 was a little rocky. I'll encourage people to give it a fair chance unless it begins to totally suck. I wouldn't say to those still awake as of this post that they should go watch it RIGHT NOW, or even as each episode releases. But I will say that avid HIMYM fans should at least give the full season a shot when it's all said and done.
