We get 12 years of pubic school free but if you suggest 4 years of school where it determines how you can contribute to society, no no no no that can't be free that's that damned Chinese communism!!!

Also free university is a feature in a lot of first world countries, but if you even suggest interest free student loans you will deemed a commie in America

As much as the student loan system is flawed how does one go from $33K in debt to $80K with interest rates at about 3.73%?

If the student made zero payments, it would take 24-25 years of compound interest to reach $80,000. And this student has paid $22,000 back.
