How big of an age gap is OK for you personally? I've dated a girl 10 years younger than me. I've messed around with girls younger than that, but no relationship.

Ive dated 4 years either side.

4 years younger (when I was 26), the relationship crashed and burned and was horrible for everyone involved for other reasons.

4 years older (when I was 28), were still together.

If there is a real connection then an age gap can exist. Mind you, it still has to be legal, no 35 year olds dating 16 year olds. But legally speaking a 35 year old could date a 19 year old. Would it be weird, obviously, but its their business, no one elses. When I was 27 I dated a 20 year old it didn't last past a couple months. My roommate who was 27 dated an 18 year old and it lasted 3 years til she moved out of the province.

The only big issue I see inherent with huge age gaps is not having much in common with each other, but if you do then fuck it.

People always say "it's legal". But never question why it's that number or take into consideration how much more grown men took advantage of teenagers. Even people who consistently break laws seem to blindly live and die for that law. Free thinking seems to really take a backseat whenever it comes up. Hell, just in the 70s it wasn't as looked down on when rockstars dated 13 year olds. It's really strange the loyalty people show that specific law. I dunno. I'm not gonna condemn anyone.
