I like Predator more.

Alien is the better movie, but Ill take Predator every time because it has Arnold. Dude was fucking gold for nearly a 15 year stretch.

Somehow the answer is Predator even though Alien is a better movie.

Alien is a better quality movie but Predator is more re-watchable and fun.

Voted Alien but only because Predator owes its DNA to it. The robust setting, the unbridled machismo, the unconventional pacing and structure, the design of the monster, the monster's powers, the almost biblical faceoff, and the preceeding catastrophe lean hugely on the foundation established in Alien. There's almost a LACK of sexual & existential subtext in Predator as a result. Instead, we got great humor and tons of action. Lots of daylight. Predator owes a lot to the memory of Terminator in the minds of the audience as well. And all the same, they kill off characters left and right. Hard to make that call.

But Alien is also much more seminal in its design of the creature, while Predator follows closely behind with the invisible camo bit, the Xenomorph has an entire army of diehard followers and derivatives

Alien is a much better movie

Predator is a perfect action movie. But I also consider Aliens to be a perfect action movie as well.

As for Alien, it's so incredibly well-made it's hard to put it below Predator. I think ultimately I enjoy Predator and Aliens more than Alien, but all three are excellent movies.
