Ive had exactly 1 sexual encounter since lockdowns started happening in ~March 2020. This will be my 2nd.

Kind of worried about safety, I met them on an app. They seem to check out tbh, like they even went and got tested for STDs at my request, and they have a respectable career and stuff like that. But, you never know. Plus, COVID is omnipresent.

All this to say, hopefully I can have fun and not get hit with too many consequences. Id definitely like to blow off some steam.

Yes I agree wholeheartedly, and I view this persons (my potential date tonight) willingness to follow such protocol as a sign of strength and intelligence, not desperation. Based off of several, hours-long phone calls Ive had with them.

but i feel ya. i was lucky to be in a relationship for the beginning of covid, but we broke up last summer and i'm about to get out there now

Oh that's great, I had no idea the medicine has come so far. What is the protocol on that though, like are you still obligated to tell your partner you have it?

I agree. Im very lucky to have these modern forms of treatment.

Some (Republican-run) states say so, others do not. The CDC ruled that undetectable (which I have been for 2+ years now) = untransmissible(sp?), so basically anyone mandating a confession that you have it (assuming youre U=U) is just an ignorant person engaged in discrimination.

Can I ask you about the HIV? If not I understand.

Like how did you end up contracting it? Was there a time where you did end up pretty sick because of your immune system being suppressed?

I ended up in the E.R. in Aug 2018 because of fungal infections in my lungs and esophagus. Swallowing had been so painful for ~6 months that Id largely stopped consuming food and went from 180 lbs. to 120 lbs. by the time I hit the hospital. Doctors were surprised I was alive and it took almost a whole week for me to be diagnosed; it wasnt until a Dr. whod been active during the height of AIDS in the 80s/90s came into work that I was properly assessed, because no one else had seen such a full-blown case in their careers.

Not sure how I contracted it because the Docs estimated Id gotten it before I even lost my virginity.
