Like the title says. I've heard about this shitty subreddit that literally shows their fat cats and talks about how "chonky" they are (fucking idiots). If you can't even let your animal outside to exercise, you don't deserve to have one. Don't overfeed your damn animal like you do with yourselves!

My cat doesn't go out because 1 there's tons of stray dogs wandering around here and 2 because the road right in front of my house is unmarked and people basically drive whatever speed they feel like.

Also she's not fat.

It is rather wild how some people take it as matter of fact that they're fat, just feeding them literally whenever they cry for it rather than doing a vet-approved feeding schedule. My brother has gotten comments surprised that his corgi isn't fat because people just assume they're like naturally fat for some reason.

I have a fat cat. She eats the exact same monitored diet as my other 2 wildly different sized cats, and is also fairly active (for a cat).
She's just a very large cat.

A lot of people have dogs that are not just pet weight, but slightly fat to obese. People are surprised when they see a Corgi or a Beagle and they're not little tubby rolls. Barring health issues most of it is diet and exercise, many of these kibbles aren't very good for keeping dogs at a good weight. The dog on the bottom is a fit Corgi

Also, nothing is sadder than seeing a fat sight hound.

People shouldn't be letting their cats out unsupervised. It doesn't seem like you have room to talk about other people making bad decisions for their pets.

Some animals don't themselves have the personal drive to exercise and only enjoy eating.

I agree that obesity is something that should be avoided as it leads to other health issues. But it isn't your place to appraise whether an animal is being cared for properly with that limited amount of information.

I have met English bulldogs that can run circles around Huskies, but a lot of dogs in that breed are naturally lethargic. You try making an English bulldog walk when he doesn't feel like it, he will make you do all the work.

I do agree with you partially TC. Just way too much judgment.

I accidentally made my dog tubby, because she always acted hungry, and then I started feeding her less and exercising her more, and she got fit and healthy again.

I do a lot of work with shelter animals and i'll never forget the one fat Chihuahua who got really excited when we pulled into a fast food lane and she heard the voice on the box. We retrieved the animal after the obese owner passed away.
