sitting in different classrooms in my time in college I always notice this.
Guys are more likely to use PCs and mouse

Unless you have a specific use case for them beyond a web browser and Microsoft office, to most people they are just accessories, and women are more likely to spend more on accessories than men

Macbook look nicer and weigh less most of the time i think

apple aggressively markets to the "Casual" user. it's maybe not that more women use macbooks, but just more men have those gaudy RGB gaming machines

a lot of women either are creative or like to think they are

mac machines and software are good for content creators of all stripes

its not a machine you buy to game on

Oh I wiped it and told her not to do that again. She was still signed into her email and stuff, and there was a folder with scans of IDs and other personal documents lol. I was tempted but I didn't think I should look any deeper even if I wasn't going to do anything

Women are less likely to be into computers as much as men, so also less likely to know the reasons Apple computers are garbage.

Also, it's kind of a "in" thing. They see other girls get it, so they want it too.

Girls tend to go for form over function and guys function over form in accessories like clothes and that extends to stuff like this.

Not that macbook isn't functional enough but that men love things that are overfunctional, as in can be used this way and that way even though they will never use it that way.

But ofc I rescind all that because any attempt to explain while women do something gonna be called sexist.

Its just brand, esthetics and marketing.

I have an M1 Macboook Air and I like it.
