Think its the only legit bad one theyve done, so I cant wait. And I mean bad as in low meta and certified rotten combined. Expected to happen when you have a dozen fucking people introduced at once or some shit. They really should have introduced at least 2 of them in previous movies.

I know it has the weakest critical reception in the whole franchise, but something about it still appeals to me.

It's just boring and the story goes nowhere. There are a lot of characters, but none of them are very compelling either.

I hope they dont drop it, because it added a ton of comic lore to the MCU, and foreshadowed a ton of big things. Could eventually lead into stuff like Galactus

A story like The Eternals should have been a series.

Then introduce a handful of them casually cameoing or appearing in a few MCU films and then give them their own proper movie.

Still haven't seen it but heard the screen time and characterization is a total cluster fuck

I have some major complaints, but overall really enjoyed the movie.
Edit: the following spoils very much for the movie. Would not click if you haven't watched.

Also, Kumail Nanjiani is fantastic.

1. All Eternals are supposed to have identical power set, but each chooses a single power to specialize and excel in. The movie does not do this.
2. Ikaris and Thena were not their original names.
3. Cersi and Makkari were an item in the comics, not Cersi and Ikaris. This was frustrating.
4. the Eternals are meant to be nearly (or more than) a million years old, not a couple thousand.
5. The Machine and the Eternals resurrecting is not mentioned once , and it actually seems death is permanent for them in the movie
6. the deviants are entirely underwhelming
7. Ajax being the prime eternal was NEVER a thing and was very frustrating

1- Likely removed for Chinese distribution, the kiss between Fesus(?) and his husband could be easily removed. Cersi and Makkari were more involved and likely would have been more difficult to cut around. Or they are saving it for the sequel.
2- They are millions of years old, but they get brain wiped. Bit of a cheap cop-out.
3- Their reaction at Gilgamesh's death was out of place, "Why not use The Machine to resurrect him?"
4- It bothers me that Kro was demoted to a sub-boss.

I didn't catch that line, I'll have to rewatch it.
I didn't see anything regarding a mind wipe andthe movie definitely doesn't try to do that.
By everything the first chunk of the movie establishes, it really seems they're trying to establish these Eternals as being incredibly young .
I'll watch it again and pay more attention for little one offs like that.

The line in regards to the machine.
During the movie the impression I got was that they're in the 10,000s age wise. Not the several hundred thousand I had anticipated. But I watched weeks ago in theater so it's not fresh in my mind.

For me, I think I may like this movie more than Black Widow and Shang Chi. It's probably because I have some form of previous positive attachment to most of the actors instead of just ScarJo, Pugh and Awkwafina.

Like Gilgamesh is the badass husband from Train to Busan. And Phastos is Paper Boi on Atlanta and Miles' dad in Spiderverse. I've always enjoyed Kumail Nanjiani in everything. Then you got both Robb Stark and Jon Snow.

Druig and especially Makkari ended up being pretty cool as well. I mean, this was probably the best Superman vs Flash yet.

Also, I was digging the milfy look Angelina Jolie had going on. I think I really liked that she was a sidish character kinda just wandering about in most scenes.

Also Arishem was crazy af. And voiced by the guy who does Sesshomaru in Inuyasha.

I will say, at the very end, there was one angle where Arishem's head looked like it had the Galactus horns and I thought that's where they were going.

Oh, and I don't know if this is how it worked in the comics, but I thought it was funny that the Celestials in this movie work exactly the same way as Titans in Warcraft. Though the assumption is that Azeroth (the Titan) won't destroy the planet when she emerges.

Just finished it myself. I thought it was alright. It definitely isn't the worst Marvel movie. But like JKWaffle said, I'm also a sucker for sci fi epics especially the ones that deal with the majority of human history. Same reason I really liked that anime Kado: The Right Answer and if you're asking "what anime is that never heard of it", that's exactly my point lol

Also p wild that the actress that plays the sprinter chick is 43 years old.
