Through the hot ones card game. It came with a small bottle of the Last Dab. The sauce wasnt as bad as expected since it had pepper x in it. It was supposedly 2 millions scovilles. Mad Dog 357 and Da Bomb wrecked my shit much more. The Last Dab is hot for sure, but it didnt make me suffer or linger for what seemed like an eternity.

It doesnt taste as bad as Mad Dog or Da Bomb thankfully, but it is hot enough to not want to eat continuously.

I've only tried Da Bomb. I made two catastrophic mistakes in that

1) I let the wing touch my lips
2) I kind of coughed as I was swallowing it

I had like 3 milkshakes after and I was tearing up for almost the rest of the day

Last Dab is like a red herring. You'd expect it to be the hottest and most painful one because it's the last, but more often than not the guest(s) end up liking it because it's not some shit made purely just to be unpleasant like Da Bomb.

The difference is that Last Dab doesn't have capsaicin extract in it, but those other sauces you named do. It's the extract that makes Mad Dog and Da Bomb so hot, but also taste bad.

Dude, okay, so The Last Dab is too hot for most applications, but try a small amount of it in a bowl of chicken noodle soup. The broth dilutes the heat and god DAMN is it delicious. I have a really solid selection of hot sauces and can give you guys some good recommendations if you want.

It's because Da Domb has extracts in it, it isn't a natural heat like The Last Dab is

I did the hot sauce gauntlet on New Years Eve with a buddy. We went in order. Nothing was really hard to do, but we knew Da Bomb would kick out asses and it didnt disappoint in that regard. Pain in a bottle.

We didnt even taste any heat for the last two sauces (Hellfire Cranked and Apollo) because Da Bomb left our mouths scorched. I went back a few days later and tried both of them. Neither was really all too hot, IMO. Apollo is actually quite tasty, too.

Da Bomb had me pacing through out the house, drinking water constantly, and questioning reality. I shouldn't have soaked my chikn tendies in them the night before cooking and then do another dip before eating the whole tendy. The rest of my day was spent drinking water, crying, and then at night I was on my side waiting for the pain to subside on the bathroom floor...

Basically this. I love my Last Dab XXX. A little goes a long way.

A drop can flavor an entire bowl of ramen or tuna. I try not to use it as a proper sauce.

It's a fragrant, mustardy, and very pleasant heat when used correctly. Your tongue will still sting a bit but you won't be pissed at yourself.

Not interested in the empty heat and torture of Da Bomb. For most things, Frank's is enough.

So Ive never tried any of these but love hot sauce. However, nothing has felt hot to me since January 2020. I was visiting my grandparents in Arizona and stopped to get some takeout at a local Mexican place with my brother and wife (thank god my son wasnt there with us). We placed our order and I asked if we could have some of their hottest hot sauce, too. The guy laughed and said, You want something really hot? I thought he was talking about sauce so I told him, Well yeah.

He goes to the back and comes out with a toothpick with a little coagulation at the tip. Try this. I do. And immediately I thought I was going to die. My eyes swoll up, I was sweating like crazy, and felt I was on the cusp of a panic attack. Im lactose intolerant but was chugging their horchata.

I calmed down within 15-20 minutes. He told us what it was - his own pepper that he grew which was the combination of a ghost pepper, scorpion and a Carolina reaper. You wont get hotter than that unless you start adding in chemicals.

Fucking wicked. Had a stomachache the rest of the day. I still dont know if it was from the pepper or the Horchata.

It's easily my favorite. I haven't disliked a single sauce that Torchbearer makes. They have a basic Habanero sauce that isn't in my picture because I ran out, it's just a really really well made basic habanero https://www.torchbearersauces.com/product/habanero-slaughter-bottle-8oz/

@Touch got you, Heatonist.com. Honestly, I wouldn't bother with any other website for hot sauce, unless you learn about it on heatonist and it happens to be cheaper on the manufacturer's website. The only one that I wasn't a fan of in my photo is the Queen's Majesty Tequila and Jalepeno sauce, it has a really strange emptiness to it. There is also a new version of Poirier's sauce that is a bit hotter, I haven't tried it yet though!

I just wish their sauces weren't so expensive. I can get a 19.6 oz bottle of Yellowbird Habanero for $13 off Amazon. Give me a big bottle of that Son of Zombie for cheap so I can be a mainstay in my collection. Nearly $8 for a 5 oz bottle is dumb.

Because it's a legitimately bad food product. There are hot sauces with the same heat level that taste far better. Da Bomb is only popular because it was on Hot Ones, and the only reason they use it is because it tastes horrible and elicits more animated response from the person being interviewed.

I love it. Has a strong earthy garlic flavor with a little tangy sweetness. It's not horribly hot but still has a nice kick. Granted that's all relative to your tolerance. Also it has nearly as much of a universal application as sriracha or Tabasco does. I always keep it stocked in the kitchen.

I've tried Yellowbird's other sauces and was disappointed. The ghost pepper is decent but the rest I'd avoid if I were you. Their habanero is far and above their best sauce.

For Mexican food I like Cholula and Tapatio. Otherwise I stick with the soul food staples - Crystal, Louisiana, Old Bay or Tabasco. I do use Franks for scratch Buffalo wing sauce, like the OG recipe though (you can increase the heat with red pepper flakes)..

I don't really fuck with the 'hot for hot's sake' stuff because while I enjoy the heat, I want to taste the food too. Leave that stuff for frat party challenges...
