Maybe angry isn't the right word, his attitude just bums me out.

Let me start off by saying I don't actually work with him, I just make small talk when we cross paths. He seems like a good guy too and he's a good worker.

Anyway, we are like super slow at work right now. Nothing is going on. We usually talk about how slow it is when we cross paths. It's been a few times now that he's told me that he feels bad that he's getting paid to just walk around and do nothing (he's security). He wants it to be busy.

I'm just like WTF to myself. This guy has a good thing going on right now. It's slow so he doesn't have to deal with any bullshit and he's probably getting paid $15 to just walk around. And they have to have security so he's getting his 40 hours.
I don't get why he feels bad. The company wouldn't feel bad if they were paying him $10 an hour and getting as much work as they can from you.

I just feel his attitude is the kind that makes companies take advantage of their workers.

This makes me wonder... how much was I paid this past year to do absolutely nothing or at most, go to the bathroom? There were several months with nearly nothing happening where I work and eventually cleaning and maintenance busywork (since we had to furlough the entire janitorial staff) eventually becomes too redundant to do, I've probably watched more YouTube than actual work this year. Don't feel bad about it at all, but boredom did certainly become an issue
