That's crazy because i was catching up with this little eritrean woman i used to joke around with a lot, someone halfway across the store was waving trying to get her attention. i said 'oh somebody needs help,' she laughed and said 'i don't care' lmao

while my sister stood in line at check-out, i went to catch up with the cashier running self-check. as we talked, the line backed up farther and farther and so many people were glaring at her (as if there's anything she can really do to help people fumble through self-check).

it's definitely nice to be in these situations and not 'on the clock,' but it's even nicer to not have to deal with grocery store shoppers and workers anymore.

(until i have another freak-out and move 500 miles away and settle into the first grocery gig i find so i can barely pay my bills)

When I was young, this was unheard of. Nobody had "winter depression". Do young people today have problems with controlling their emotions?

It's not trolling at all. Giving critisism and question people's emotions have nothing to do with trolling, unless you want to live in a world with no critisism and 100% lies.

Fuck off
I think people would feel much better if they changed their way of thinking, instead of just feeling sorry for themselves. By living a lifestyle that is only about who's the biggest victim, I think young people get deeper and deeper into depression.

It's all about how you think. And I wish more people would talk about this.

I am very supportive about depression but "Winter depression" just sounds ridiculous to me. I think it's making light of actual depression.

Not saying you can't be depressed during Winter. Absolutely can, because anyone can be depressed at any time. But blaming it on Winter is ridiculous. Sometimes you need to put effort into going out and doing things even if it's cold. Try cross country skiing or something. Get a bike and bike while you listen to music.

I actually feel better in the winter. I hate summer and the heat. I enjoy being out more in the winter, going on walks, sitting by a fire, camping or even stargazing.

Hate to hear it's a problem for you. What about winter don't you like? Or causes the issue? Have you been diagnosed with seasonal affective disorder?

I like the fact that there are no mosquitoes, snakes, and that I can see the horizon better (I kind of live in a valley, so in spring/summer the trees block that. Not a huge deal, but I like to look for earth grazer meteors on occasion, and it's harder to do in the summer). We have a large creek flowing nearby the house, and I love seeing the ice on the edges. Hell, I even fish out there on occasion in the winter. Never have much luck, but it's still fun. Sometimes I'll see an otter, or if I sneak up on the creek I'll catch some ducks chilling. All of that is less fun in the summer, because of the bugs, heavier rains/storms raising the creek level, and the humidity being a really pain.

Not judging, but maybe try to see some of the positives of the season. They all have their charms.

Today can fuck right off. Nothing is going right at work. Its fucking grey out and customers are obnoxious. My assistant manager got a flat on the way in and my manager just got back from covid so shes not back up to speed. I cant fucking think straight. My girlfriend has been stuck in a state of panic for weeks now and I cant do shit to help, and now shes in the hospital so I cant even get emotional support from her. I wanna just leave and quit and not work anymore. I wanna breathe out and be free instead of exhausted and in pain. I want to have any time to myself when the sun is out.

No you were just really dumb and ignorant.

Seasonal affective disorder has been a thing before you ever existed bud.

If winter/cold makes you depressed/less energy.

Go online and look up "Light Therapy" lamps.

They will make you happy and bubbly again as if it were summer (you're body will heat up naturally too).

If you are bipolar though don't buy one, they send them into manic frenzies.

@LadyxKiller as a psychologist, seasonal depression is absolutely a real thing, who are you to dictate what's "real" when it comes to depression? You say you're very supportive of depression but you aren't at all
