Why? Every region has different Pokemon

Yeah not adding in every Pokmon is the smallest complaint I have for the series

Usually they mean that they want every Pokemon's data to be in the games. Like even if you can't get a Pokemon like Greninja normally in game, you can always transfer it if that game has the data for Greninja in it. In the 8th gen games Pokemon like Greninja simply doesn't exis,t like you can't trade or transfer for it and that was never the case prior to gen 8.

I don't understand why there's no Final Fantasy monsters or Digimon. I wanna catch em all

The whole concept of the game is that you can trade with other players so it would make sense that youd be able for any Pokemon that exists

they even have a paid subscription app specifically for storing your Pokemon and transferring them to other games

im 100% okay with generations starting with 50-70% of Pokmon available.

however if were doing the dlc, 30+ new Pokmon mid Gen, and multiple games in a generation (ie, new game remake game legends game) route.

i dont think we should end a generation without every Pokmon being available.

Yeah dont get it either. I dont think there is another mon game that breaks 500 mons even with recolors. Hell its rare for any other mon game to break 300 mons.

I didn't catch 'em all to not be able to transfer them all to the next game.

Greninja seriously isn't in SwSh? Out of all the Pokemon, you'd think that one who got added to Smash would be included. I figured they would exclude obscure/not well-liked mons.

This is not a solution, it is a sidestep.

Because if a Pokemon sits out 2 generations in a row, that's 6-8 years of not being able to use what could be your favourite Pokemon in a modern game. Worse if it's more gens.
There are currently several Pokemon that have only appeared in 1-2 regions out of 8.

this is as much of a solution as saying to box pokemon if you dont want exp share to overlevel them

There's no other game with pokemons budget or level of success, they absolutely have the money and ability to keep all the pokemon in, sword and shield had every pokemon in the data

Its also very interesting that the same generation they announce that you cant transfer everything into the new game, the holding transfer service is getting replaced by a new one that costs more money for a subscription (and still is clunky as shit and not available for the new games day 1).

The pokemon are all the same anyway

They had this figured out in literally every Pokemon game for 20+ years. This is just another case of GF being horrible devs, and of course a CEman is defending smol indie dev Gamefreak gutting out content on hardware that's supposed to be better than the 3DS.

If they still bother to make two separate version's for each gen then why not go half half for each? On top of whatever new pokemon are added.

Fans would still buy the newer version if only tocbe able to obtain the new pokemon. And it will help promote a strong trading scene for casuals whod normally only trade a few times for completions sake, and never bother with it again.

Dexit wouldn't have been a major issue if Sword/Shield wasn't so half-assed. If it looked good and had great animations, people wouldn't have minded if some Pokemon were cut out.

But it looked like shit and they still cut Pokemon, so people were big mad about it.

Tbh it shouldnt be an issue in the age of DLC and patches. Even if they can't add them all at launch, the "national dex" Pokemon can still be patched in in waves. Hell, would be a great way to promote tournaments. "Your favorite Pokemon is coming back! Do this event to stock up on ability patches, mints, and bottle caps so they'll be battle-ready for this themed tournament we're doing!"

For me it just turns me off from a Pokemon game if it doesn't have my favorite poke in it. Finally finding that pokemon in the wild or through an event or something is always a fun moment for me, and it sucks when I just know right off the bat it isn't happening.

Because all Pokemon has going for it is its Roster size. There are way better monster capture games out there that are a lot more fun with better mechanics.

I was fine with Sword and Shield limiting the pool. But I don't really accept BDSP not allowing you to port in the new mons that were created just the year or two before.
