Analogue Pocket. Plays original Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and Advance games natively. There's a $30 adapter available which also alows you to play Sega Gamegear games, and they've advised they'll come out with adapters for Atari Lynx, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Turbografx 16 carts.

The screen is out of this world, it by far looks like the best way to play gameboy games, if you're into that. And apparently it's extremely accurate and plays even the most technically complicated games. If you watch reviews people have some problems but by and large looks like a great product:

Edit: $220 on Analogue's site for the console, plus some if you get accessories like the tv dock or game gear adapter.

Looks like around 13:12. And this reviewer does point that out as a weak point, but that they are functional. He compares it to the SP and says SPs shoulders were a bit better.

Its not very expensive either, was tempting to buy

Thanks, yeah, that's a bigger issue for me than most. I can't reliably/consistently play some GBA games on my SP anymore cause my hands are just too big, and i have to force them in an unnatural and uncomfortable way.

I love physical games, and I've been wanting a single device to play all 3 gens of gameboy, but I have not been satisfied with my options so far in terms of design. I've actually been getting into Gameboy for the first time, I missed out on handhelds as a kid. Only for this to launch right when I'm getting into the hobby

@Guide You might keep an eye on this company. This product is doing well, and a lot of people are asking them for a horizontal "original advance" style variant. I prefer this form factor myself, I love the original DMG and this feels like a successor design-wise.

They've reverse engineered the hardware. I'm pretty sure they're in the clear from that.

Technology patents last 20 years unless renewed. Since there's no longer a handheld cartridge market, there's no reason for Nintendo to renew the Game Boy or Game Boy Advance patents.
