Spoilers for both Kingsglaive movie and main story/ardyn dlc

I remember people taking issue with King Regis seeming to genuinely not recognize Ardyn when Ardyn offered terms of surrender in the movie. The best explanation was that he was disguised (which is just terrible, given that Regis recognizes Ardyn's title).
But now it's just amazingly funny that this is the same guy who walked into the capital and beat Regis unconscious some years back. Makes it sound pathetic that Regis asks why he's without a guard.
I guess there could be an explanation now that Ardyn's established as the kingdom's dirty little secret. Still funny though.
