Literally everyone was playing it. Me and my friends would get drunk and go out and catch pokemon at like 2am. We would all do "drive by catching" where someone would drive a car and everyone else would catch pokemon, with someone duel wielding with the driver's phone as a courtesy. I even accidentally trespassed once on some guy's property looking for a fearow and got yelled at >_>

Basically if someone was looking at their phone, there was actually a decent chance they were playing Pokemon Go. And strangers would work together. Like we'd be out in the street and someone would pull up in a car along side us and say there was a Starmie 2 blocks north, and we'd all go over there to catch it. Or I'd see a group of people walking and just join up with them. Or tons of people would congregate at some random landmark for hours catching pokemon. Cops were even confused because there were TONS of people congregating at spots and they thought it was a riot or something before they found out about Pokemon Go. Even coffee shops would have all these pokemon decals on their stores. Hell a local radio station talked about a Snorlax sighting by a highway exit. It was great!

Then Niantic fucked it up by removing the tracking steps and making catching pokemon impossible without using pokevision apps and such. smh But can you imagine if there was trading and pvp battling during then too? I'd literally be Pokemon irl lol. I bet people would literally give up half their pocket money during pokemon battles if they lost to strangers on the street. That would've been so fucking awesome lol

Definitely agree. The community was amazing I made so many friends at a mall. But also the amount of pokemon locked to the location was very hard in some areas (looking at you tucson and no water types)

I remember going to a nearby city...a small city. And everyone was out at 2am like you said, skateboarding, and playing the Pokemon theme song in their cars. One day even the police played the song. It was nuts.

U need to play the games how the dev intended to or else it would not be a fun experience.

A local festival put up these signs to warn traffic for inattentive Pokemon players. All of the signs were stolen within a day or two.

No it was not. I was the only literal adult walking around catching Pokemon while everyone was a kid/teenager. Never felt so out of place in my entire life.

Simpler times. Too bad the servers were all fucked during then too. Made it so difficult to actually play the game with people.

Great times. It was around the time I first started dating my wife. We drove to downtown Naperville in Illinois. The cops were en masse all over the area. It was just chaos of people everywhere there until like 2am.

Where I lived in the Midwest there were no pokemon spawns

Those were the days. Its improved tenfold since then, but the hype today is nowhere near the first months that it came out.
