Not everyone in Harry Potter seem to know everything and some seem to have a natural skill for certain types of magic. So having a hospital wing with a witch/wizard with a talent for healing magic and specialized knowledge about healing potions etc is most useful. When Harry breaks his arm in the second book, a teacher try to heal it with a spell but that backfire so all bones in his arm disappear.
