Y On the news for the last several weeks. Several days of waiting just for an appointment, no drive-up testing available just about anywhere.

Months ago the idea of "just having less testing" to bring down the numbers was reprehensible. What has changed? Why is everyone seemingly okay with it?

I've seen plenty of reports on it. We really do need to do better getting tests out there.

Where do you live? Because I'm in the urban southeast and there isn't any testing readily available here.

Which is weird, because for the last 3 months doing extra/understudy work they had us testing at least once a day on set, usually twice.

You ever consider it might be the fault of Brian Kemp and other worthless pieces of shit like him? they want to keep their numbers lower

No. Because it wasn't the fault of Brian Kemp when Donald Trump was president and I don't know what would have fundamentally changed in regards to distribution on the federal level. Brian Kemp ain't a good person or politician, and he's a wonderful Boogeyman, but I don't think he's directly or indirectly responsible for this particular issue.

Besides, the testing shortage is not a regional issue as far as I can tell. Outliers to the issue are seemingly regional though.

I got lucky that my parents still had one left over from when my dad got it a few months ago.

Otherwise, I wouldn't have known I'm positive for another three days

I live in Northeast Atlanta and we had this same issue this past weekend. My Mother-in-law was supposed to meet is for a new years party and she felt sick. She drove around for hours looking for a test before we remembered we have an Aunt that stocked up on them at Costco a few months ago.

She tested positive. We came close to having a bad party.

Yeah most places around Savannah are booked or you need to get the test early or they run out of capacity for the day.

In the wealthiest county of Michigan tests are sold out. You have to call early and get lucky if you want one.

I live in San Antonio, TX and was able to do a drive-in test with about a 10 to 15 minute wait in line. Hopefully we can get more tests out there nationally, though. Omicron is going wild.

I haven't noticed a shortage here in North Florida, even though our testing sites have been inundated since Christmas. My wife had to get tested twice last week, both times she was able to make a same-day appointment at the drive-through site near our house

I mean, it's closer to the truth that our available testing infrastructure (pcr test sites, availability of antigen tests) just wasn't up to snuff to deal with the carnage that omicron is wreaking.
