This is my first animal crossing game and I like it. It is a kind of a nice slow game. I guess I have not gotten into the meat of the game since I just pick weeds all day and sell to a baby racoon. And I have no wish to go to other islands. I don't like that two animals came to my island lol.

Speaking of which it was goat that game to my island with me. I put him on the other side of the island since I do not like goats at all (lol)

Its a solid game but I still love the GCN and DS ones more.

Great but removed more than it added and it's just disappointing in that aspect.

got boring after a month, but i loved all the ones before. they removed too much, drip fed content too slow, and made designing and terraforming your island much too tedious and time consuming

And it's got the dreaded item/tool depreciation factor, just to keep you wasting time collecting materials for crafting more. Basically makes the golden tools fucking worthless since the entire point of those is that they didn't break (it's especially absurd with the axe, like you'd think they could've at least kept that one unbreakable even if it was exclusive to that tool only)

What did they pull? I played it for like the first 3-4 months after launch but haven't gone back since.

I liked it for what it was at the time, it was a good, relaxing time burn.

I still play new horizons every day

I played the original Animal Crossing a whole lot (Actually have this dummy item: https://nookipedia.com/wiki/Prerelease_and_unused_content_in_Animal_Crossing#DUMMY_items), but that's the only one I've ever touched. Never had any interest in the subsequent titles.

I dont get the appeal of this series tbh

Dammit and now an owl is on my island. Another animal that gives me the heebee geebees.

I played it for like a month, it was chill. I wish the villagers had more variety in their personality tho. They should get mad at me when i bop them over the head with my net

They removed a ton of the furniture sets that have been staples to the series since the first game. My problem is the shop sells so few items and it's totally random to get some crafting things you want, but nothing really fits totally perfect in the end.
Also it's probably just me but I feel like the clothes are so lacking this game. Maybe having too much of them at a time kinda ruined it.

Lot of wasted potential. They could have done so much more with it. To be fair, I haven't tried the new stuff, but it's kind of just too little, too late at this point.

To all of those saying it has less stuff, did you only play like the first month? There is a ton of stuff now.. swimming, sea creatures, cooking, lots of new furniture, the cafe is back, a version of happy home designer is now in the game. That's just what I know since I havent played the latest update.

On topic: It's a fun relaxing game. I've played it on and off the past year, currently in the middle of a complete island makeover. Terraforming can be a bit frustrating...the game likes to misinterpret where you're pointing your tools a lot.

My niece plays it all the time but she preferred the one for the 3DS that came out a few years ago.

I dont know anything about it myself, but I bought an Animal Crossing themed Switch and the game for my wife back for her birthday. She seems to really enjoy it.

She plays a bit of it everyday and really looks forward to holiday events.

I absolutely hate it. Every day I think "fuck time to check in" and I walk around and see the dumb islanders and I think "what a piece of shit you are". Worst part is they get upset if you stop talking to them. Why can't you be like real neighbors and we never interact?

The counter argument is basically all of that aside from cooking have been in previous games already. So yes I love it but its too little too late.
